Breaking Par for the First Time

I was excited to receive a sleeve of Titleist "Test" golf balls to try out and provide feedback. I diligently played rounds and hit shots to compare and report the results to Titleist. After doing such I had one ball left in the bag that was skinned and slightly bruised but still playable for winter golf.

I teed up that ball with three others in late November at my club in West Virginia. Hit one off the first tee and had no idea what was to come.

I didn't practice any shots or chips or putts before playing but was just interested in getting out and swinging. I missed several opportunities to go low but I was hitting and putting great.

I've played for over 30 years and fluctuated between a 6 to 10 handicap, and never broke par. Well on that late November day I came into 17 even par. Number 17 is our #2 handicap and I hit the green and made the putt. Parred 18 to shoot one under, a 69.

Had my second hole in one in April(both with ProV's) but was much more excited about the 69 than anything I've ever done in golf. And I did it with a Titleist "Test" ball which I really don't know what it is except it's stored in my case forever. Thanks Titleist.
