Liked the new Titleist balls. On the simulator balls launched higher with less spin. Better distance. On the course, I liked the feel of proto 388 (ProV1). I am looking forward to purchase!

Good feel around the green, more workability. Good distance feels a lil softer. Softer off the putter

    388

Good feel around the green. Good distance. Firmer off the putter

Got a few more yards off the tee with the V1 than with the X, but the X stayed closer to target. Loved the feel of both on the green. Spin on the V1 was awesome from 125 in, but (due to poor swing mechanics) too much side-spin on the mid to long irons. Grateful to have been given the "free" option to test, and found the V1x to be what I'll stick with.
  4. 348- explodes off the driver. Straighter than my usual TP5X

388- great spin for approach and chipping shots. Great check ups on bunker blasts.

Thanks for sending the balls. I liked the 348 for distance it carried it further. The 348 was better for me in the control area as well. The 388 had a great feel off the putter. As far as spin both balls were very good. Both balls are playable.
  6. Feel was good on both tee to green, but a little too much spin off tee with both. Both felt too firm off club face for putting. I’ve been playing AVX and still prefer those all-around.

After the 388 I used the 348 last week and was surprised to have same reaction I
Saw a few folks here mentioned. I expected a higher flight but it seemed lower that the 388. Still felt great and nice distance but seemed like maybe lost some. Good spin around green

Had the chance to play both balls in the last week.
First impressions is that they feel softer in general to me....mostly off the putter.
Both balls hold their line well in wind and provide excellent stopping spin when needed.
Honestly both are great balls...I would have a hard time choosing one to game without some Trackman data.

I'll try to post more when I get out with the other balls.

    All in All Excellent Balls.

  9. The testing was good fun though cut short by snow here locally. I found both balls performed well with slight differences in distance and spin (given my relatively slow swing speeds.) I was able to hit most shots with both balls. I would play either ball (and do) though I had a slight preference for the 348 for feel and green side.

  10. I was lucky enough to receive the white boxes this year and as always titleist doesn’t disappoint I have Ben able to play them both and they were great in the wind they performed great holding that ball flight and also felt both stopped on a dime, and both had that awesome prov feel.why would we expect anything less from titleist.great job another home run from them
  11. 388 for me! I really liked the way it felt when putting. Overall it's a very nice ball looking forward to playing with this ball in the future.
  12. Have played the two sets of balls for the last two weeks. I have found the following: didn’t gain much distance, 2-4 yards, but did find that my direction was very much more in the fairway and where I wanted my ball to go. It was wonderful into and with the wind, however I was very pleased to find that my cross wind ball flight was very predictable. I could make the ball fly them high / low at will. The best part of the test was in the short game portion of the game 10 out of 10!!! Loved the balls and will be purchasing them!!

I only test the new proto 348 & 388 putting.
348 feels like Pro V1x and Pro V1 in between ish. and 388 feels a bit softer than 348.

so far I like 388 feel for putting.

I will update more once I play both proto balls on the course.

    thank you
  14. I play the Pro V1, and it seemed like it spun a little more around the greens, and maybe felt a hair softer than the 2021 version with the same great distance and trajectory you expect. The Pro V1 x proto flew higher and spun more than the Pro V1 proto, so I hit it shorter off the tee by a few yards. Also it spins a LOT more into and around the greens for me, which I don't need. But there are people who need that for their game, and this is their ball. To the people at Titleist, thank you for making the best performing golf balls on the market and giving us a choice to play what we need for our games so we can get better, and enjoy this great game even more !

I played 9 holes with the 348 and 9 holes with the ProV1x. The 348 seemed to be consistent with lower trajectory off the tee and iron shots. I hit the ball high and would like to get a lower trajectory with a ProV1x. The 348 did that for me. It rolled on the greens about the same as the 1x. Would not hesitate to the 348 ball in the bag. I was lucky enough to also get a sleeve of the 388's. I had time to play both balls at the same time. This really helped in figuring out which one works better for my game. The 388 clearly jumped off the driver face and gained 5-10 yards. Iron shots seemed comparable with the ProV1. Spin seemed to be about the same. Overall, I feel the driver and iron shots were better with the 388. Ball seems to be a bit more durable when after hitting 5 sand shots side by side with the ProV1. The 388 feel was great like all ProV1's. Both Proto's are a go!

Thank you Team Titleist for sending me the Test balls to be part of your Panel!

Thanks to Titleist for letting me try the new golf balls out. I play in the PNW as a 5 handicap. Driver 250 7i 155. It’s been cooler and wet here lately. The new prov1X seems to have good distance and trajectory like the last version but feels a bit softer. The prov1 feels the same to me but seems to spin a bit more on wedges. Putts the same and possibly longer off the tee.

Excellent cover durability for both as well.

I played both balls in same round 3 different days

Each ball for 9 holes each round, I noticed a little distance increase and both felt great coming off the face of club.

Both seems to drop and stop, prov1x seems to fly straighter for me.

Both felt great off putter face, ProV1X for me, nothing wrong with other one though just prefer the feel and flight of 1x.

Great job Titleist this is why you are number 1 again and again and again!

Loved both balls. Great feel off the driver and irons. It was very windy and course was dry and hard when I tried these. Difficult to see advantage in distance. Easy to flight the ball. Could keep it low into the wind and get it up with the wind.
  19. I tested the new 23' offerings and found that I loved in particular the new ProV1 proto offering. It had a solid feel, piecing trajectory and all the qualities I come to expect. In particular we've had a particularly windy fall season and the ball performed really well off of my TSR3 driver!
  20. For years I played the V1, but midseason this year I switched to the V1x. After testing both prototypes, a felt that the new V1x model was definitely an improvement in terms of feel, distance and accuracy. Trajectory seemed consistent with the previous model. I wasn’t able to test with a simulator, but played several rounds, switching back and forth between the new ball and the older version. I was surprised on the green how the ball felt soft, but seemed to pop off the putter with more energy. I putted very well with the new ball.

I struggled to see as much improvement or difference in the V1 ball, it just didn’t feel as good to me as the new V1x version.

Looking forward to the release of the new balls!
