This was a fun test. I'd like to know which model I was testing because I'd be interested in buying it in the future.

Received test balls and immediately went out to play 9. More this weekend as it supposed to be near 60 here in Indiana. Not sure what model the test balls are- noted some folks seem to be able to identify the model. Usually play the V1. The test ball is great for me as its straighter off the tee with a little less spin. Long/Mid irons have a lower ball flight as to approach shots so I need to adjust distances. Dispersion rate seems less so I was closer to the pin from 160 yards out. I play 716 CB's 1 degree strong.

I shared my test balls with a fellow player (I'm a 6; he's a 7) and we both compared against ProV1s and other performance balls (cally Chrome). Sadly, he dunked his test ball early in the test round. But my experience, shot-for-shot (two balls each shot) yielded slightly longer tee balls, more control with mid- and short-irons and great short-game control. The test ball seemed to spin more, even backing up on some downwind approach shots. Chipping also seemed to yield better spin/check performance. While one ball/one round hardly provides statistically sound data, I left the course wishing I had more of the "Test" balls. I'm eager to learn what they are, when (if?) they'll be available and whether my findings sync with the intent of Titleist's product development team.

I received my sleeve on Oct 18. Unfortunately, I am unable to evaluate them until February 2017 due to knee replacement. I am looking forward to playing golf with the "test" golf balls and also playing pain free golf!! I hope to participate in future testing opportunities.
  5. Got my sleeve on Tuesday and tried them out on the course this morning. I always think it's the archer rather than the arrow, but today I was more consistent and significantly longer than I've been in over a month. Normally I'll average around 240 off the tee, but today it was 265 with a 310 yd shot slightly downhill and a 292 yd shot uphill for my best pokes. Absolutely murdering the ball and seeing little to no spin off the driver...straight as an arrow. Then on the greens, the ball would just hit and stick. Super soft feel too. Really enjoyed playing these prototypes.

The test balls arrived last week and put them in play yesterday, a great Day day in Vermont. I have no idea what model the ball is but it was softer and straighter than what I have been used to. Distance was as good if not a smidge longer. Thanks for including me on your testing and I would be honored to do it again. Really hope you will let the testers know what model they were testing so we can drive the new model.

Received my sleeve of balls a few days ago and played 3 straight days with them in different conditions. The prototype was a good ball, but for me, just didn't have the same feel as my Pro V1. The ball felt harder and didn't seem to come off the club face in the same manner as my regular ball. It had a higher flight, and didn't carry, under the same conditions, as my present Pro V1. Also, the ball reacted more like a Pro V1x around the greens, as it didn't have the same bite as I have come to be accustomed to. The ball just didn't check up for me, instead it ran further past the pin. Confidence in golf is what it is all about and change takes time for that new confidence to take hold. However, just like any new item or change in equipment, there is a learning curve that you must get used to over time. I truly enjoyed comparing the Prototype with my present Pro V1 and would welcome future opportunities to test other balls or equipment. Thanks again.

I played the prototype V1x yesterday. The prototype is a firmer ball, maybe five yards longer, with a tighter dispersion and a "crack" sound. I would appreciate an opportunity to try the V1 to compare as I prefer a softer feel on all shots.

Thank you Titleist, for selecting me to take part in this years testing.

Please let me know which ball was used by me in the test survey. I really have gotten used to the prototype i used. I usually get numerous rounds with one ball.

I played the Prov1 test ball on Friday on Pinehurst #2 and found the ball to be very long, have a tight pattern and great spin around the green. Had a great feel off all the clubs, driver down to wedges and putter. Found that I picked up 5-10 yards over my previous Prov1 ball. Thanks, Titleist, again for looking out for us. Actually won the long drive contest on Friday with the test ball. Won a nice Titleist leather head cover and a dozen Prov1s.

Just want to give a well deserved ShoutOut!! to Titleist .. I received the balls a few days ago and I feel that the ball is longer off the tee approx 6-10 yards which is a huge advantage no matter who we are. The long to mid irons felt about the same but where I seemed to notice the difference were shots less than 100 yards ball seemed to check up and it performed excellent off the putter...
Side note.. my Titleist Thursday was rained out today can not wait to update my old Titleist 762 looking forward to reschedule soon so Titleist can personalize all my clubs from the NEW driver New fairway and New hybrids oh what the heck my better half gave me the approval for a complete new set ... From the driver to the Scotty Putter YEA for me..
Keep up the great work Titleist and looking forward to the next test.....
Love receiving your products and love using them almost everyday during the golf season!! Thanks!!!

I played the prototype today and really enjoyed it. First off I noticed that it felt very good coming off my driver and irons. I was able to get a nice high trajectory with my driver which is something I have been struggling with. I normally play a ProV1 and the prototype "seemed" like it was just a little longer. This ball stopped very well on the soft greens I was playing today but didn't spin back as much as the ProV1 normally does which gave me more control since I didn't have to guess how much back spin I would get from shot to shot. Finally, maybe it's my imagination but I think the cover on the prototype seemed like it stayed whiter longer than the ProV1. I played the entire 18 holes with one ball and other than a slight scuff from hitting a tree branch the ball cleaned up very well and looked nearly as good as when I took it out of the box. Thanks Titleist!

Played three rounds with the test prov1. I swing at about 85 mph and got easy height of the tee. Easy to control height around the greens and through the bag. I've been splitting time between the present prov1 and the Bridgestone RX. I seem to hit it a little higher with the prov1 test ball. The ball has the best feel I've experienced ever. It's durable enough to play several rounds with. Cart paths will leave a slight discoloration but not damage the cover enough to effect flight at all. I love this ball.

Better than Christmas getting these in the mail!

Suspect they are the next generation ProV1x. Only one short session today in fading light at the club; will post more details shortly.

Thanks so much & honored to be repeat R&D tester!!

Have now played twice with the prototypes (black number = ProV1?). Found the prototypes to be slightly "harder" during the round I played hitting my regular ProV1 and the prototype from the same spot. Seemed to have slightly less feel around the greens with the prototype. That said, played the entire round with the prototype today and shot my lowest score of the year.

Two requests: I live in Wisconsin and the balls always seem to come in October. Would love to be able to test them under more ideal conditions during the summer. Also, it would be great to know what the ball you tested really was and whether or not it made it to production

One thing that really struck me in the new prototype ProV1x was that I seemed to see a change in dimple pattern. I felt as if the outside cover was thinner and when I struck shot it felt as if I was striking something a little softer. really nice feel but sometimes you can become oblivious to the solidity of contact if the ball is too soft. That being said, I loved the feel of them off the putter face, something not a lot of testers will pay attention too. It provided me with a really nice sound of the putter face and gave me excellent feedback. I wanted something a little firmer off the face of the putter and that is what I got. I think that with the tetrahedral dimple pattern as well as the thinner cover, I gained a lot of feel on the green. Around the green I definitely prefer a firmer feel, contrary to what others like. One thing that really makes a golf ball special is its ability to give you feedback on a poorly struck shot. It is like having a coach at your side. This is one thing that really stands out from this version of the ProV1x and last years model. Its ability to provide shot feedback, yet perform at a high level while satisfying individual preferences really is important. I have not hit anything but wedges and short irons yet, and I plan on providing feedback when I get to the long irons, woods and driver. Thank you Titleist for making such great gear and giving your loyalists a chance to help test them!
  19. Just received the Titleist prototype "test" golf balls. Only played one round with one ball and shot 77. I found the ball very similar to my current ProV 1 ... maybe a little harder. I look forward to continuing my test and "thank you," Titleist for giving us amateurs the opportunity to assist your company with this research project.

Just got done testing Pro VI (I think)
The ball is awesome. The best part is hearing my partner say after every drive, I have never seen you hit it this far on every hole.
Thanks again and I can't for these balls to come out
