yellow vs white

I remember seeing something that said one flew slightly longer in the air but the other rolled out further. Probably balances out in the long run. For me, it would not be enough to make me choose one over another. I like playing the ProV1x white most of the time but also have some ProV1x yellow that I take to Bandon and use if and when visibility is a problem.

I also play both white and yellow prov1x. From my experience the yellow seems a bit harder yet a lot more durable. Found myself in some tree trouble and went for the hero shot. Bounced off a couple of trees yet there was no signs of scuffs. My wedges would scuff up the white in a few holes and yellow would take the whole round.

According to MGS, yes, but apparently only by a yard or so, I think it's kind of negligible.

I've personally always felt the covers don't feel the same on yellow balls compared to white.

Myth.....I would believe. Think if you line both balls up, they will fly the same. In doing personal research, cannot find any documentation that says one is longer than the other. Goes for Prov1 also. There was some some discussion on MyGolfSpy or GolfWRX where some feel there is a difference, but no proof. Only talk.

I agree with Chuck; I think it's a myth.I play both the yellow and the white. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and on cloudy days it's easier to see the yellow. That said I don't think there's a difference in the balls feel or performance.

I have played both white and yellow ProV1's and I have noticed no real difference in performance. Now I do feel the yellow cover is not as durable as the white one, but that is my only real difference.

I've been playing more of the Left Dash recently and that one only comes in white, for now.

White seems to have a louder "crack" when it hits a tree dead on, but gives you a better ricochet back to the fairway. But that's just my experience.

Maybe I’ll have to switch back to the white proV’s. I like that they bounce back into the fairway instead of deeper into the woods.

I have played both and don't see any difference in distance but the yellow ball feels different. It might just be me.

I switched to the yellows last fall, the only difference I can tell is feel. The yellow to the touch feels a little softer than the white. Distance and spin, in my experience are exactly the same, no shorter, no longer than the other.

I play the yellows and I find the cover to be marginally more scuff resistant than the white. I haven't noticed any performance differences at all.

I play both colors and I don't notice any difference in performance., but when i play the ball off the turf, my eye perceives that the yellow is bigger when i address the ball, so i feel more confident.

I just bought a dozen yellow ones. I plan on testing them out as soon as I run out of white ones.

I do not believe it...the cover is slightly different possibly but distance wont be easily noticed. IMHO

FYI - I play both yellow and white daily and dont see a difference.

I have boxes of both yellow and white golf balls, personally, I prefer white golf balls. I tend to lose sight of the yellow ones in the air.

I wish I could use yellow, something about it just doesn’t sit right with me. I’ve tried time and time again. For some reason they do seem more durable. But that could just be random.

I don’t see much difference. It comes down to a vision thing. I can’t follow a white ball on gray skies. Depending on the color of range balls, I’ll use the opposite color on holes bordering a range. Nothing worse than checking 20 balls to see if one is yours.

I almost always use yellow balls (Pro V1x) but on the occasions I've used the white ones, I'll be darned if I can tell any difference in performance. I do agree with the comments that yellow may be a tiny bit more durable, or at least show minor wear marks less easily than white. If there is any difference in distance, spin or ball flight it must be really, really minor.

This thread proves just how nuts we golfers are! Haha, yellow carrying further than white, or vice versa! Hilarious, what a crazy and beautiful game we play!
