I got some prototypes but I am not sure which model. They were labeled 'Test' and had small embossed initials in two of the dimples ("JD"). I would love to know when/if they are released to the market, I would buy them for sure. Distance, accuracy and control all improved as measured by my Game Golf system.
  2. Finally got to test these prototype balls, they appear to be prov1x, which is the ball I use religiously. I did not notice a big difference between these and the last generation of Prov1x, which is a good thing. On thing I did notice was that the prototype seemed to hold its line and not get knocked down as bad in the wind, I also hit a couple thin shots and the ball seemed to still have a nice trajectory, could be a result of the irons also(Titleist 716 AP2's) anyway I was happy with the performance of these balls and will be ordering my usual 8 dozen when they have the buy 3 get I free sale in the spring. Keep up the good work Titleist!

I played the test balls and found little difference between them and my current ball. The test ball might hold it's line in the wind slightly better and has a slightly softer feel than I am used to. Played 8 rounds with them and the covers held up nicely.

Thank-you for allowing me to participate in the trial of the new Pro V1 golf ball. I found them to be excellent. I felt they stayed online better, and the softness at impact was perfect. Putts seemed to roll straighter, but that may be a placebo effect, everything seems to affect my putting. I am a seven handicapper and would certainly welcome these balls coming on the market soon. One observation, the pique of the ball did not last as long as my regular Pro V1. Did you change the painting process?
  5. I have been impressed with the new model, the feel was as good as ever when pitching, chipping and putting. This ball seems more workable than the previous model to me. It's much easier to flight it up and down and to hit a draw with.

It does not seem as durable as the last model (possibly) hard to say with a small test, however saying that I am happy to give up a bit of durability for a better product overall. Let's face it the modern ball lasts a bit longer than the old balata ;)

Great work Titleist, love your products!
  6. Finally had the chance to get on the course with the sleeve of "test" balls you sent me. I liked the feel of these new balls. They were firmer and seemed to have less driver spin without any sacrifice with the shorter irons. I'm looking forward to putting them into play once they become commercially available.

Awesome balls. Really liked the feel, distance and spin around the greens. Another winner.

I tested the golf balls sent along with the Pro V1x that I normally play. I drove the test ball 10 to 20 yards further per drive and they were softer and spun more around the greens.

Just took part in testing the sleeve I got from Titleist. Bright yellow NXT TourS I’m sure. I normally would hook one or two of these immediately but was able to play two full rounds with them without losing any. I hit with a lot less leaking at the end of my driver flight and had very good irons onto the greens. But just like every other manufacturer they don’t work with my putter. Ball is the common problem not the user. The test site was Hesperia Golf and Country Club Ed PGA stop. These have been my favorite ball for some years now.

I just finished playing 8-10 rounds with the three test balls that you sent. Finally lost one in the water, not the balls fault, went a little further than I anticipated. Not sure how much this helps, at my age 74, the feel is just the feel. My group worries about distance and control and maybe the flight of the ball, but the swing has a lot to do with that portion. I use the AVX and this test ball was every bit as good, control was at a premium, none of us really spin the ball a lot, if we do it was by mistake. I play 4 to 5 times a week with around 30 different men, my handicap is 12 and we range from 8 to 22. Everyone was interested in these balls. Not sure what they were, but I could sell a lot of them here in Georgia.
Thank you for letting me try these out, please let me know when I can help again.

golf ball was similar to the pro-v for my low swing speed. weather was cool and grass was dewy so distance off tee was hard to judge. i gave one to a 4 hdcp. he also thought that the ball was similar to a pro-v. he, however, thought the ball was definitely shorter.

    Hi Mike,
I received test balls about a month ago. I normally play AVX. I first started putting & chipping with the test ball, along with my AVX, and a Pro V1. Test ball seemed to jump off the club, and stopped quicker than old AVX. Then I played about 3 1/2 rounds with the test ball and my AVX. Test ball seemed to go straighter in the wind, and again seemed to jump of club. Slightly better distance with test ball, with both the driver and irons. Interestingly, the test ball did not show any wear even after 3 + rounds, but my AVX did show some wear. Lost the ball in the water, but will use another one (if the snow melts in Wisconsin)
