I have been fortunate enough to test Titleist golf balls for three or four years. I enjoy the process especially attempting to figure out which ball I received. For the most part it seems Titleist has sent me balls for my index, however, one of the tests was certainly a ProV1 variation which is too hard for me to compress. Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to test golf balls.

Have not received the test balls as of yet. Looking forward to when I do! The last balls I received were compared to what I normally use, which is the Titleist NXT Tour. That is what I compare test balls to. Wish they would tell me after the test what ball was tested/sent.

I played the balls during a tournament at my club and was extremely impressed with the spin and performance on irons and the longer carries with my woods.
I would recommend these balls to the better golfers and even average ones.
The feel on putts was very impressive, as well.
  4. I received the test sleeve a couple days ago, been raining here in NY but I did get 9 holes in right after I got the sleeve. I am a 67 yo male with a 15 handicap and normally use Pro V1x specialty balls. I didn't notice a lot of difference except the balls seem to stick or hold on the green better. Love your golf balls and they are all I use. What exactly are the test balls I used? Thanks for all you do for golfers.
  5. Received the test balls in late spring, couldn't wait to try them. Very similar to NXT balls I generally play. Great ball flight and soft feel. Love the tests.

Played 18 holes today. Ball responded very similar to the ProV1x I normally play. I did notice an increase of about 6-9 yards increase in my driving distance. Otherwise the spin around the green and approach shots seemed the same.

I live in northern Ohio and since I've gotten these test balls in October, it has been raining every day since. I am also working 7 says a week right now so I will have to wait to test these. The last ones that I tested worked very well and I expect these will work the same. Everything Titleist works well. Thanks for sending these.

First I want to thank Titleist to have this opportunity again as I did this a few years back and am very excited to review this new test ball. The balls just arrived yesterday and I will be playing tomorrow in wet/ windy/ very windy conditions so this should really show how this new test ball can deal with strong winds. I wanted to test them today but we were rained out. Here's a pick of what arrived and the stamping on the balls I received.

  9. I had a great experience at the Titleist user group at Bradford CC and Golf Ball testing at Far Corners. Really actually like ProV1 and Velocity ball offerings and have them in the bag now.
  10. I love participating in the testing of Titleist golf balls. Its always a pleasure putting the new balls through the paces and comparing them to other brands and previous models of Titleist balls. I am always impressed with the quality and play ability of Titleist products and am part of the Titleist army for life.

The test balls seem to launch higher that my ProV1x 2016 ball that I currently play.
Especially off the face of my driver Cobra LTD Pro. I love the launch characteristics when the comparison was made on my TrackMan. Ball speed increased 3 mph on average.
  12. The prototypes I got about 8-10 months ago were different. They were only marked with a ▪️or a
The ball marked with the square felt firmer, flew straighter, but not as far as the 2015 ProV1X I play.
The ball marked with the triangle felt softer but not as soft as a ProV1 and had very low distance.
I didn't prefer either of these to the ProV1X I normally use.

Played first test ball yesterday and again today on an Executive Course. Too early for conclusions. Will continue to test and report. First impression is very good. I usually play ProVI or cally Chrome. I do seem to notice a lower ball flight and excellent response on green. Look forward to playing it more.

Great experience of overall. I received the test sleeve on Thursday, and tested them today at Winged Foot. Nice soft feel, but strong presence off the club face. Great performance when stopping on the green.

The prototype balls were excellent. Great distance off the tee as well as with irons. Nice feel when putting. I got good spin when needed. Excellent golf ball.....but then I would expect nothing less from Titleist!!! Only ball I will use.

I've been on the list a number of times - and have always enjoy the experience. Having played Pro V1s for a long time, they seem to keep getting better (although, admittedly, I'm not sure how much different one generation is for my game over the previous one). What the testing does for me is it let's me focus much more on how the ball is reacting to my shots - esp. on short game, putting feel, etc. - than just the outcomes of normal rounds. I find little difference in distance one generation to the next in my tests, and that may just be related to the difficulty I have of hitting two identical drives back-to-back. (The courses I play give me lots of opportunity to do on-course comparison testing.) But I also look at durability - and the latest generations have been excellent, allowing multiple rounds on a ball without any scarring (a sharp improvement over the decades). The cost per round of a Pro V1 is not high unless they are lost. I've played Titleist since my college golf team days over 55 years ago - and am a better golfer now than I was then (in what other sport is that even possible?). So maybe the advertising mantra "Trust your Titleist" is really pretty appropriate. So I always look forward to the opportunity to test the next generation of ball.
  18. Got my new Pro V1x prototypes on Wednesday night. Haven't hit them yet, but will hit them tomorrow! Feedback coming tomorrow, too!

  19. Received my sleeve of Titleist Prototypes yesterday and was eager to try them out right away, but Mother Nature up here in the Northland had other ideas and 45 degree temps. Hardly weather to compare my go-to ProV1X. But today was a new day and got out to the course. Immediately put the new ball on the tee and let it fly followed by my usual V1X. Both seemed to explode off the driver face and bore down the fairway, except let's face it I'm human and the second ball skidded off into the rough. Iron play is where I really wanted to see the changes Titleist had put in these prototypes so throughout the rest of the round I dropped one of each in the fairway at different lengths to test. I liked the stopability of the prototypes a bit more than my original V1X. But the V1X seemed to have a bit more touch around the green when chipping, but again I'm human and imparting a ton of "one hop and stop" isn't always in the cards. All-in-all I was impressed by the prototype with its ability to keep super durable cover which is a nice change to previous V1's which after one or two great wedge shots leave a pretty good cut or two.
Keep up the good work Titleist R&D and thanks for improving upon an already amazingly impressive and reliable product!!

I received a sleeve of 3 prototype test balls and played several rounds with them.
I reported the results thru the survey. Enjoyable experience. Would gladly participate again.
