  1. Just wondering why my Lob Wedge's (60° 04T) neck (between heel and hosel) is about half an inch longer than my Gap Wedge (52° 08F) and Sand Wedge (56° 10S)? I thought it might be shorter. It makes the lob the longest wedge at address by about 1/4 inch.

Is it the design of the the club or is it the design to offset the lower bounce or grind?

    Thanks

  2. I have since learnt that it is to adjust the centre of gravity as the loft changes. Larger the loft the longer the hosel/neck. Reason being is that it keeps the centre of gravity towards the leading edge of the face while striking the ball. As loft increases the centre of gravity wants to shift up the face to the trailing edge.

There is also added weight to the toe to counteract a centre of gravity shift towards the heel of the club.

    Thanks
  3. I have since learnt that it is to adjust the centre of gravity as the loft increases. As loft increase, centre of gravity moves from the leading edge up to the trail edge of the face. By increasing the hosel/neck length, weight has been added at the heel of the club to counter act the centre of gravity shifting to the trail edge of the face as the loft increases during your swing.

Weight has been added to the toe to compensate the centre of gravity shifting towards the heel while swinging also.

    Thanks
