Here in So. Cal, our public courses are strained by drought conditions leaving green hard under foot. Which grind works best for 25 yards out on these limiting conditions where the soil is hardened?
i am leaning towards 58 or 60 loft

Hey JM, This condition requires low bounce on your wedges. The lower the better. The conditions you cite are exactly the conditions that Lee Trevino learned how to play golf and he was probably the best Professional wedge player ever. Lee was a big believer in not releasing during the swing so as to maintain maximum forward shaft lean. If you learn this shot you will find it produces the greatest amount of back spin and will also flight the ball trajectory lower for better trajectory control. Do a YouTube search on Trevino and "wedges" and then watch and learn. It will improve you game. Best Wishes, DV
