In the market for new vokes for my brother. He really loves the look of the raw black but is worried about the rusting. For anyone who has the raw black, do they rust quite a lot? Or just a bit?
thanks

Think they're too new for anyone to answer that. Just got mine and they look fantastic.

Wally, I love the picture...those are great looking wedges! I've been thinking about getting a new 52* and 60* SM5 in black myself.

The raw black looks the best in my opinion. A little rust will enhance that look. I don't have the raw black now, but I previously had other wedges that eventually rusted. Like Brian, I also wipe my clubs with a damp towel and then a dry towel after each shot. I've found it only takes a second and it keeps all of my clubs looking great. Plus I very rarely need to do a good cleaning later.

raw black does rust too bad as long as you don't let water stay

Hi Jacob, I have had the chrome, oil can, indigo and now play the raw black. I have found in all cases that rust will be minimized if you take a wet cloth and wipe them after each shot then take a dry cloth and give them a quick wipe. I have had the best of luck maintaining all of my clubs in that manner and it's a good habit to get into. That will give your clubs the longest of life
If that is not your habit, and you clean them after the round or from time to time you wi see some rust, but I would not say it will happen too quickly. Additionally where you store your clubs or in what temps will have an impact as well.
If they are a gift, I am sure he will love the look of the raw black, I certainly do.

I have the raw black and have played them all summer. I clean/wipe after every shot and have yet to see any rust. I love the wedges.

I too have played the raw black since they have come out and I do not have any rust what-so-ever. If you live in a humid location I could see this being a little more of any issue but if he takes care of his clubs he should be fine. Mkae sure you have the correct grind and bounce info tho :)

I've played the Raw Black all summer, cleaning after every shot. They look and feel great, only time will tell concerning the rust. Your brother will love them!

I prefer the chrome for durability, but if he likes black and raw, then he must clean the grooves and club head before they go back in the bag after a round. After use, wipe them down dry and spray with silicone spray to prevent rust.
If he doesn't mind rust, have him clean and dry them, and forget the silicone ... but they won't look newish for long.

Wipe them down with a little WD-40 after cleanining. That should help prevent rusting as well.
