I bought two of the brand new Vokey SM5 wedges 54 and 60 degree, both S grind. Had them re-gripped with midsize golf pride grips. Anyone else enjoying these knockdown clubs?

Andrew, I am still playing my SM4 wedges but I have heard great things about the new SM5 wedges...! Sounds like your hitting them well!

Andrew,
Pardon my ignorance but what do you mean by "knockdown"? Meaning they are amazing or meaning that they are easier to knock down or flight down?
How do you view the spin you get from them on full shots? Not enough, too much, just right?
Thanks a lot.
No problem James! I actually mean both. I do not prefer to use my wedges on full swings (Almost never the 60 degree and less than once per round with the 54) but on the approach shots from the fairway I like how you can keep ball flight low if you prefer to do that, but when needed to fly a hazard or bunker of some sort you can have regular ball flight. That being said, the spin on those fairway pitches with low ball flight is immaculate. Love being able to pick a spot to land the ball and know it will remain very close to where it landed. Spin from the sand has been great! Hope this helps!

I feel the SM5 are a little heavier than other models before. The grooves have bite for sure on all shots and I feel that with the extra spin I may have lost a few yards with them. I am very happy with the SM5's and looking to upgrade my other wedges to the same by the end of the year I hope.
Thank you for the response. That is great to know. I did not try to hit a knock down (I demo'd them on the course for a few rounds). Great to know that it can be done. I need to revisit the clubs. Very helpful. Thank you very much.
Dan,
Thank you for your post. I found there was more spin on the SM5s as well. Now trying to factor in the use on my SM4s makes it a little tough but my sense is that they will spin more. But it is great to hear that you didn't find it an issue and that you are looking forward to getting the SM5s. Very helpful, thank you.
