what's everyone's plan of action before Thursday lock down on golf courses, I've got my Tee booked for Wednesday morning, then its back to hitting ball into the practice net in the back garden and putting in the living room. Hopefully it will pass quick and we can be back on the course.

Already in the second week of lockdown In Ireland, not got anywhere to hit balls unfortunately just a puttout mat in the hall to keep the eye in.

yeah we are into week 2 now, and my back garden in small, so its just putting in the living room and a cheeky bit of chipping in the hall way with the sponge balls. roll on 5th December
  4. Half day at work today, then playing in the midweek Stableford - first time using the slope index/WHS. Sun is shining, Titleist clubs cleaned, prov1x marked up.....
Enjoy if anyone else plays - its when we cant play we relaise how addicted we are to this game and brand...:-)
  5. I was too late to get a tee time too - by 10:00 Monday, they were gone.

I spent an hour on the practice fairway hitting (and occasionally mis-hitting) balls - changed the loft on my driver and hybrid too.

Lockdown will see me get out the putting mat, putt for 10 mins and then sadly find myself bored! Can’t get motivated putting on a mat.

Have a good and safe lockdown.

  6. Antony,
    If in doubt, do nothing...
Did nothing.... And it lashed down for most of the day in the micro-climate that is Wirral.
My club closed 8.5 holes (Play 1 - 3 then half of 12 and 13 - 18 Sounds weird but it makes sense geographically)
Not too bothered at present - will get my fix when we can get out again.
Will have to make a plan for the shots I've lost to WHS!!!

yeah its been shocking all the rain we have had in Leeds, I got to play in the comp on the Saturday before but its was 40mph winds and 3 holes closed, very wet and not very scores getting put on the card. hopefully the greens keepers can work there magic over the 4 weeks and the course will be quality for when we can play again.

  10. Oh well not much we can do about it 250,000 people partitioned in just 24 to keep courses all for nothing.

Covid is a true nightmare for most.

Yeah not looking good, hopefully these couple of weeks will fly by and we can be back on the course enjoying a bit of golf. We have the Masters to keep us going this weekend.

Managed to get out with the two pro's from the club at 7.30 yesterday morning, bit fresh to start with but when the sun came out it was great and actually managed to play quite well.

That's lucky, cant beat playing first thing in the morning especially when the greens have just been cut and rolled, an all the bunkers are raked.

Chilling ! Played plenty of golf over the past few months got a new handicap of 10 so will sit back enjoy the Masters and work hard once the range opens again.

If I had the chance would love to work on my short game tho it lashing down with rain! 1 bucket , 1 SM7 52F and 20 balls just to keep the feel going.

yeah would deffo need to keep my eye in on my short game, just seems a bit unfair that the new WHS handicap system starts and we cant get out there and play, roll on December
  16. Im really lucky i get to practice most days, i have the curragh on my doorstep. Right before lock down phase 2 went and bought a wellputt 3m meter matt i try and use that most days too just keeping it to 20 mins or less in the evenings. Also Getting some speed work done and still lifting weights, would love to see a club head speed close to 115mph before Christmas. The WHS spat out 5 for me, last time i have 5 handicap was a few years ago so it spurred me on to try and play proper again, since i only started playing again in May after a 2 year break

Nice work, would deffo try and get some weights in and see if that helps me, I got my new WHS at 13.8 so will be interesting to see what happens when we can start playing in comps. Plus getting out and playing different courses to see what shots I gain or lose on certain courses.
