    Hi all!

Hope you’ve all got out this bank holiday in the cracking weather!

I’m thinking of sending one of Scotty Cameron’s to the custom shop and wondered if many people from the uk have done it? And realistically what’s the turn around time?

    Cheers Jez

this is the reply I submitted in May 2018 when I cam up before

I used to send many a putter across to the Scotty Studio to have them refurbished and customised, the refurbishment costs were around $100 - $150 ten years ago and the exchange rate was a lot better in favour of the £.
I had about 20 mainly Newport 2s in my collection a few years back. It was good fun and their work was excellent you almost felt you were having a brand new putter returned, you can also have them look unique with a different paint fill custom headcover and grip to your choice. Check out the website www.scottycameron.com/.../shoppingcart.aspx

However here's the bad news, with the associated costs of shipping to the states and back, the current exchange rate, the approximate increase of 300% increase on the charges by Scotty Cameron for their services along with the duties you pay for their services on custom handling charges in most cases you're now better off buying a brand new scotty.
If you have that beloved Scotty Cameron that you want lovingly restored back to its former glory then as previously mentioned above remove the shaft from the head and send just the head in.
I used Royal Mail with no problem, if you have two putters send them in together as that will effectively split the shipping costs, £20 out and around £40 back, cost will come in around £250 for standard refurbishment add to this the customs duty of between £60 to a £80 then its going to cost you over £300 for the privilege even more if you add custom stamping and custom grip and headcover.

    Hi Jez,
I haven't done it but know a few who have. The service is normally very good but lead times can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months (normally closer to the latter I believe)

I sent mine away in late May and still, waiting for it to ship back. I understand time frames for refurbishment are around 3 months so hoping to see mine again some time soon.

Received shipping notification from Custom Shop today, meaning I should receive it on Monday. Total turnaround time was just over 3 months for full refurbishment.
I'll post pics once it arrives.
