Augusta as a Ryder cup venue

I too have discussed this with the mates and we think it would be a great venue for it.

Great idea, if only! surely the Americans would have a home advantage.

If only the Augusta National Golf Club would allow it, maybe the rowdiness and crowds cheering and support would fly in the face of their traditions?

ANGC closes for the season right after the Masters and doesn't open back up until late fall, like November, for play. This would preclude it from hosting the Ryder Cup.

Now you mention it, I recall the footballer Alan Hansen saying that he played it just before it burnt off in summer...
I know that membership is by invitation and that those invited are unlikely to be short of a dollar or two (eg Bill Gates) but $10k+subs per year seems a bit steep for a club that's only open six months. I'd have to find another club as well....
Still, not a problem I'm likely to face!!

There’s a drone video online that shows Augusta National in the summer and it is a complete mess. The heat of the Georgian summer kills all the grass and they don’t overseed so it takes most of the winter to get it back into shape for the Masters.
