    Playing Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Portstewart Strand, Turnberry, Old Course Ballotx2 with backup St. Andrews Links courses or Kingsbarn if we can get on...followed by Carnoustie. Clearly, a memorable trip.

    Any recommendations vis a vis good pubs, restaurants, etc. for when there is a little evening downtime?

    Also, I'm contemplating taking my clubs in a hard plastic case and transferring to a Sunday bag for play. I can fit about 10-12 clubs in each and to be frank, I'm not a good enough golfer where I have to have every club anyway! Solid Plan or Stupid Plan?!! Just not sure I can stomach paying nearly $500 to have them shipped.

    Any other leads/ideas welcome. This is my first time leading a trip and first time playing golf in the United Kingdom. While I've been all over Ireland and spent some time in Edinburgh, I've not been to N. Ireland nor Fife.

    John, I went back in 2014 and took my clubs with on the flight. There is no need to ship them unless you are taking loads of luggage?
    I stayed down in Crail and drove to kingsbarns and the old course each day.

    Solid trip, I’ve been fortunate to have made several trips over the years.

    I wouldn’t go with the “hard plastic case” for your clubs b/c it’s a real pain dealing with it once you’re over there. The case won’t fold up and store easily in the van that you’ll probably be driving around in.
    The better option is a softer bag, like a “Club Glove” and I think FJ has a version as well. The key is that you buy a “stiff arm” or put some sort of broomstick in the bag to provide some stability and protect your driver and 3-wood shafts!!!

    Engage the caddies , they’ll tell you where to go. It’s all part of the experience!!
