Cabot Links or Whistling Straits

Have not been to Cabot although it is a bucket list venue for sure in regard to golf. Whistling Straits does have the spa for your wife if she isn't interested in the golf. Lots of shopping around the Straits as well. In regard to golf you can't go wrong with either.

Cabot LInks. You have 2 courses you can play Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs. Both designed by some pretty good architects. Coore/Crenshaw and Rod Whitman.

Whistling Straits might seem more intimidating for some golfers.

My biased opinion (having not played Cabot Links) is Whistling Straits. 4 courses all which are amazing.

Have only played Cabot and our group (FJ) were the first to play the second course, so it was kind of rough, but still nice.. Cabot is about a 3 hours drive form the airport, ugh! I think you'll get more golf out of Whistling and more to do once the round is over. Not much to do once the 19th hole is done at Cabot.

Agree with Todd. Went on that FootJoy trip and loved the area and the courses. They beat me to death, in that my back went out and pretty tough to walk (Cabot Cliffs). It is a destination course, which means, pretty much golf only. It is a very small town and if I recall only one restaurant outside the facility. I'm sure Kohler Resort has more offer for you and your wife outside golf. Remember PEI is across bay from the course if have a couple of days to kill. I love Canada, those sunsets, and would go back in a heart beat. Go on line and see if they added amenities that would make it work for both of you.

My wife is fine with The American Club or The Woodlands. There are multiple shops around The Woodlands, in addition to the Spa at The American Club. There are also "artsy" shops in Port Washington about 20 minutes south. The Great Wall of China display near the American Club set me back. Between the fixtures in the baths of the hotels and there, I ended up using Kohler products in my bath remodels. An alternative that won't drive purchases after the trip would be the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan. It's only about 3 miles to the Kohler village and Blackwolf Run and closer to Whistling Straits than the village. It also has a spa. The 2 most scenic courses are The Straits and the The River. The Irish (links behind The Straits) and The Meadow are the other 2 Dye courses. The Bull (Nicklaus), the Bog (Palmer), and Erin Hills (US Open) are all close by.
Not to say Cabot Links isn't on my bucket list, along with Bandon Dunes, but I only live 2 hours from Kohler. Won't have to fly to the TT event this year!

My choice would be Whistling Straits just for the mere fact that I would enjoy watching the Ryder Cup and knowing what each hole is like.
