Hilton Head - Golf Trip

I have played several on Hilton Head island as my brother has a Disney timeshare there. My favorites are Palmetto Dunes which is a Robert Trent Jones course, and Oyster Reef. Oyster Reef is a little pricier but is very nice.

I have to agree with palmetto dunes and oyster reef. I also enjoy old south a lot but they had fungus on their greens pretty bad last year. In July, we are playing the redesigned ocean course done by DL3 back in sea pines. There's a lot of nice courses down there but my least favorite is shipyard.

Check the courses in Bluffton, there are some really courses there also. Bluffton is across the bay from HHI. See if your course has any reciprocals with any courses in either area. Sea Pines is an awesome course but a bit on pricey side and Davis Love III just finished a new course on the property.

Don't know what they're getting for it now, but Harbour Town is probably my favorite course around, definitely in Hilton. Shot makers, left, right, smaller greens, great variety of holes. If it's reasonable, don't miss it. I know they had a package for there and the other two courses in Sea Pines that together wasn't bad.

So many good courses that you can't miss. Check with the locals and see which courses are in the best shape. Old South is a good bet for a true public course.

I visit Hilton Head, SC twice a year. Played there in January. Courses are in great condition. There are several great courses. Played the Robert Trent Jones course at Palmetto Dunes. The new Atlantic Dunes course at Sea Pines and Harbor Town at Sea Pines (a must) if you have never been there. Sea Pines has done a fabulous job updating their facilities (Clubhouses etc)

I have been in Hilton head many times and my all time favorite course is Palmettos Dunes- Robert Trent Jones.

I like all 3 courses at Palmetto Dunes. The Jones course is my favorite. Harbor Town is a must play. Totally worth the money.

If you play Palmetto Dunes (I agree RTJ is the best of the three) try Shelter Cove Marina for an after round dinner, lots of good spots but the deck at Bistro 17 is our favorite. Dolphin Head is a lesser known course, Gary Player design that features tight fairways and plenty of water. Whether you play DH, or not, hit the close-by Skull Creek Boathouse if the weather is clear, its quintessential HH. Good low country food, entertainment from 6-9 every night and a winning atmosphere. Have fun!
