    Planning a trip to Monterey in June '17 to play Pebble Beach. Looking for suggestions on other courses, travel planning and non-golf activities. Thanks.

    Spyglass, Poppy Hills, Spanish Bay, Pacific Grove, Bayonet/Blackhorse

    Definitely include Spyglass in the PB rotation. Spanish Bay is different and only play if you really want to. I like it every once in a while but very different from the others.

    Del Monte, if you want to experience the oldest course west of the mississippi, owned by PB, but inland Monterey. Nothing terribly special about the course, but the history. It is wide and pretty easy.

    Bayonet is a fun one as well,, working your way north.

    Pasatiempo, to work in some Alister MacKenzie greatness. Of course play Cypress if you can get in, but most can't. Pasa was his favorite course and where he lived and think he may have died there too. His ashes were spread on the course as well.

    Lastly, you can get a good stay and play deal for Pebble sometimes that they email me. You should try getting on their email newsletter.

    I agree with Ben although I'm one that likes Spanish Bay too.

    If your budget is tapped after Pebble, I recommend Bayonet & Black Horse - serious golf, some nice views and won't break the bank.

    Non-golf: burn up 17-mile drive of course. Especially in a Porsche :).

    If the fog is bad at the coast in June, try Carmel Valley Ranch inland a bit or Quail Lodge, in that order. That area usually misses the fog, at least in the afternoon, and is generally a lot warmer.

    Spyglass is amazing. PB has the history but Spyglass is by far the better course. Would stay away from spanish bay and play an extra day at Spyglass.

    Played Spyglass and it is a beautiful track. Also Pacific Grove, which is a muni. It has one of the prettiest back nines you will find in the area and referred to as the poor mans Pebble Beach. Always play it when I am there. Will be heading out to San Francisco next year for our 40th Anniversary, and plan on driving down to Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel. Pacific Grove and the Olympic Club in San Francisco are on my list to play. All the time I will have to play golf.

    Non-golf take the drive up the coast and find the iconic tree, the aquarium is a must see and definitely hit Carmel and Santa Cruz.

    Spyglass, Del Monte or Poppy Hills are great choices. I also like staying/playing at Carmel Valley Ranch.
