Since I live in New England golf season is coming to an end. Luckily my job takes me to warm places like FL. Anyone have any good recommendations for a good round down there?

Well, I live in south florida so let me know if you need a good track down here because I know all of them.

Our team is going to Fort Meyers Beach, FL for spring break and we are still looking for courses to play. Do you have any suggestions in that area?
Check out Old Corkscrew. It's an incredible Jack Nicklaus design and is one of the best courses in the area. You will not be disappointed.

5 hours is a bit long... If I'm ever in Fort Myers I'll check it out
Sawgrass is great too. I've played all of them but you got to play the stadium.

Was it hard to get on the Stadium? I'm flexible in my time and it'll be on a weekday. I've looked online, but I've had a tough time booking a tee time.
Oh, I was suggesting that for Wilson N.

Make the drive down and Play Sawgrass. You won't regret it.

I'm honestly thinking about that. I'll be down there in two weeks. Can you call to make a tee time? If I go I want to play the stadium course. It's a bucket list thing...

There are two courses Valley and Stadium...the Stadium is where they play the Players Championship so it is a must play. The Valley is equally interesting but definitely a more resort course feel. I would check both out if you have the time. The caddies there are important since the rough on both courses makes finding your ball almost impossible if it let grow.
Wow it's been awhile since I looked at this thread. I actually did go play the Stadium course and it is indeed awesome. it's not something I'd do all the time ($$$$$), but it's definitely something every golfer should do once. Hitting the green at 17 was one of the shining moments in my "golf career"

had a chance to play both the Stadium and Valley courses in January. LOVED both. One thing to keep in mind is that the Stadium course is nearly always cart path only and you might actually walk more by riding than by walking. The Valley allows you on the grass.
I'd see what the difference is rates would be to play with a caddie rather than the fore caddie, which you still have to tip.
Also, if you stay at the Marriott, you can book tee times further out.
Enjoy!!!!!

I second that. I played both courses with Chris and I totally agree. I was having a horrible time finding my ball in the rough and reading putts, but our forecaddie was a great help! After being there for 6 years, he obviously knows the course.

Josh, Make sure you play the Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass. It is worth the money! There are numerous courses in the St. Augustine area just south of Jacksonville. One is South Hampton. We were in Jacksonville for 60 days two years ago and joined SH for 2 months. Great People, challenging course. Here is their link. http://www.golfsouthhampton.com/ They had some sister courses, but that might have changed. There are other courses nearby like Cimmeron, but we did not play there. Someone else in our group just played public courses in Jacksonville and also had a good time.
If you have 3 days for instruction, I recommend Golfmadesimple.com. They cost a little more than most, but it is worth it. They are in St. Aug. and the school is in Palm Coast, Fl.
Make sure you get down to Palm Valley Fish Camp http://www.palmvalleyfishcamp.com/ one night for dinner. I recommend you go early on in your trip as you will want to go back. If you like Pizza there is http://www.alspizza.com/ in Ponte Vedra, across the street and just north of Sawgrass.
Have fun, we did!
