PLEASE......As you go through this weekend, and through this week, and for that matter, every day going forward, take the time to thank those you encounter who've given of themselves in the past, or continue to do so every day, serving to protect the rest of us, our freedoms, our way of life, and each other. Don't forget, thank a vet. It doesn't take much. A simple thank you, handshake, or recognition for their service.
There is nothing more sacred and giving than for a young "kid", to travel half or 3/4 or the way around the other side of the world to defend our liberties and American Dream. No matter if you agree or disagree with our leaders putting our youth and troops in harms way for whatever conflict or reason, as those who have to go, don't get a say in it. They just go as told. But remember that elderly man or woman, pain in the neck boss, or "idiot" politician who may irritate you on occasion, wasn't born elderly, obnoxious, or a pain. They were once "kids" too, and may have had to see, experience or endure terrible things as a "kid" running around the beaches of Europe, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Korean Peninsula, the deserts of the Middle East, or Mountains of Afganistan, or worse.
Only those who've walked in their shoes, really know what they went through. Think about it. It wouldn't kill you to show some respect and say thank you. Even those who protect our homeland at peace, law enforcement, fire fighter, medical techs, running toward the danger as the rest run away too. You'd be surprised how many you'll run into on the golf course too, who love the game as much as you.
