Loft

You must have a preshot wrist *** backwards otherwise you are correct that is not normal. Scotty has commented that 3-4 degrees is what the majority of players need based upon tour players and consumers.

I think you may have misinterpreted what the fitter told you. It is not possible to have negative loft on a golf club. In fact even putter have loft.

I think what they may have told you was that they would adjust the loft of the club down by 1 degree from its standard setting, For instance, they may adjust a 10 degree driver down to 9 degrees.

Daniel, I'm sorry. When I first read your post I thought you were referring to am M2 driver fitting. Chris is correct. Putters need loft for the ball to roll properly off the face. If your putter had negative loft then the ball would be forced down into the green and hop pretty badly as soon as it was hit.

No, it is not normal. You need positive loft of 2 - 4 degrees for a proper roll on the green. The ball actually sits down on the putting surface, so you need a small amount of loft to get the putt rolling smoothly and properly. No putting surface is perfect. You may need to consult another fitter.

I understand the need for some loft, but during the fitting on SAM between the putters original loft of 3 degrees and my shaft at impact, I created a Dynamic loft of 7.1 degrees. My stroke isn't going to change so I'm looking for technology to help get that to around 3-4 degrees.

Never heard of anyone doing this before, but theoretically it could work. Could always bend it back if it doesn't work.
