Enjoy it, cause Augusta is a special experience. I plan on making that pilgrimage real soon, and going to drag some people along with me so they can see just how dang nice a golf course can look.

That's awesome. I've been to a couple of tournaments, and could only imagine how awesome The Masters would be. It's arguably the most coveted title in golf, and my personal favorite tournament of the year. Hopefully TT will have a presence. You should post some of your pictures on here so I can live vicariously through you!!
Tim TigerTucson, AZ
Sounds like an awesome experience.
I have a great camera that would capture the grounds well. Hope to get the chance at a practice round soon.

you will have a blast. I went on tuesday last year with my father, our first trip to Augusta, it is by far the coolest thing i've ever gotten to do with my dad. A couple tips from my experience: Get there early and go to the pro shop first and buy all of your merch. (they will store it for you so you don't have to lug it around the course all day) Then if you are interested, go to the front of the clubhouse and get your picture taken with the yellow pin flag in front of the clubhouse. (there is a line for this so it does require some time) Spend some time hanging out by the big oak tree behind the clubhouse, you will see alot of players and personalities there after their rounds. i met Scotty Cameron there, and got his autograph on my ticket, talk about a great piece for the collage! I would also spend some time at 16 and watch the guys skip shots across the pond- pretty cool. then, just walk the course and pay close attention to the slope, landing areas, and green surfaces, truly amazing! i had no idea how massive that piece of property was, I walked the couse twice from 1-18 and twice from 18 - 1, it was a magical day, and it will be for you too! have a great time.

Hi J.D.,I'll actually be down there for the Monday practice round and heading back home on Tuesday. After many years of sending in the envelope for the practice round ticket lottery, I was fortunate enough to win a few passes this year. This will be my first trip to Augusta and I could not be more excited. I'll be taking pictures on Monday and posting them here for everyone to see. While we will not have a formal presence or a Team Titleist hospitality tent, it would be great to see any TT members that will be there on Monday and maybe there will be a few more on Tuesday for a meet up.Only 45 more days...

Mike will be a pleasure if i get to meet finally... sorry i did not make it to the PGA show... but lucky like you scored a few practice rounds tickets after a long 9 years of applying.... guess is worth the wait..... this will be the second time for me but first a real ticket holder..... See ya there.... you got my info text me or call if so.....

Tom- Thanks for the tips. I am pretty excited to go. Do you know if they post the tee times for practice rounds? We will be there all day but it would be cool if we knew when players were teeing off. Being left handed, I am a huge Mickelson fan. After that, I pull for all the Titleist guys.
Mike- I would have loved to meet you but I guess I will be a day late. It sure would be great to have a Team Titleist hat to wear for my day at the Masters (hint hint)!!!!! Black Sm/Med in case you have an extra one you want to toss my way!!!
I will definitely post some pics when I get back. I am so looking forward to it!!!

Have a great time. Looking forward to the pics from you and Mike
Deno
Thanks Deno! Since my brother went last year, at least he will know his way around. I am really excited about this. He and I will be playing golf on Monday and Wednesday as well. It should be a fantastic few days! I will be taking TONS of pictures and will post a few.
J.D.
They do post tee times for practice rounds on the left of the big scoreboard on #1 fairway. you won't have any problem finding it! I'm left handed as well and Philly Mick is my guy too. Have a great time.

This board is right next to the new practice range on the walk in from the main patron entrance. It is just before you make the slight right turn towards the merchandise building. This was from 7:00 AM on the Monday practice round last year. It is constantly being updated as the players go out.
Thanks for the info guys! Have I mentioned that I am a little bit excited about this!!!!!!!!

I'm excited to watch it on TV; I can only imagine what it would look like in person

Alright golf junkies let's get this thread kicking again. Two weeks away! Who's your pick?
I'm going with Nick Watney. His performance has been nothing less than superb this year.

If you haven't yet, you need to stop by www.masters.com just to see the beautiful photos of Augusta. I'm telling you, if you don't have all out Masters fever yet, you will after a few minutes taking in the sites on their site. It is, hands down, my favorite week of the year. I read, with jealousy, about a few of you heading down there this year...that is fantastic! I can't wait to see photos. It's been great to get expanded coverage of the Par-3 contest and streaming coverage at masters.com...but I'm guessing nothing can beat being there. My tradition is, Sunday it's just me, the TV, my laptop, some snacks and soda and a blanket for lounging on the couch. I watch it alone and I don't answer the phone...it's all golf. I love that.
As far as a pick, mine will be the same as it has been for the past 3 years...Steve Stricker!!
Masters fever? I've got it.
Masters fever?? Yes, I have it bad!!! The countdown is on. I will be there in less than a week for the Tuesday practice round. In checking the weather forecast, it looks like there might be some rain but it will still be fun. Here is my mini vacation schedule.
Sunday night- Fly to Atlanta to stay with my brother and play on his golf simulator (Newport by Tru Golf)
Monday- golf all day at his country club
Tuesday- practice round at Augusta and take a TON of photos
Wednesday- golf all day at country club and then fly home.
My picks for the Masters- Mickelson, Kuchar, Dustin Johnson, or Nick Watney. That is my Masters final four. If it is anything like March Madness, there will be someone that none of us thought of near the top of the leaderboard on the weekend.
Steve BCenterville, IN
J.D.,
How did it go? Do you have some awesome photos to share? I can't wait for the tournament to start today!!!
Steve,
I am working on that right now. I am going to post a new thread called Tuesday Photos. It was awesome. The parking attendant at the lot we parked at offered me $20 for my black Team Titleist hat. I politely declined his offer.
LOL, too funny!!! I don't think you can buy a regular Titleist hat for $20. I definitely would pay a lot more than that to get my hands on one!! Hopefully I will win one of these contests one day and get one. Can't wait to see the photos. Glad you had a great time.
Steve
That a boy JD-TT hats are priceless. You were right to turn him down. Now, let's see those pictures

So far, Mr. McIlroy's leading by 4 strokes! Wow. Mr. Fowler's doing great, Mr. Garcia...this year is a great one as usual. Like they say, the back 9 on Sunday is what it comes down to.

You are going to really enjoy the experience. I've been four times and wish I could go every year. Its a special place and the beauty of the course is unbelieveable. TV does not give it justice and you'll be amazed at the changes in the elevation of the course. Very challenging shots on every hole and the greens are just AWESOME!!
Ive been to several tourneys and the Masters is by far the best!! Get some gear and enjoy the course!! I would also recommend going to Quail Hollow, the practice round tix are $25 for all 3 days!! I go every year to that one as well. The Masters however is super special and you'll never forget your first time of seeing this famous course. I got me a Freddie autograph on a Master flag!! Great guy and what a swing!!
I agree Dale,
I made it to Quail Hollow last year after I broke my wrist in Afghanistan. They sent me to Fort Gordon, GA to get fixed up and I drove up to Charlotte on the weekend to catch the tournament. I had a great time. It was a great course and the tournament was awesome. I hope to make it to Augusta one day. While at Fort Gordon, I drove and saw the gates to the course. That gave me goose bumps by itself. Can't imagine going to the tournament. Have fun guys!!!
JonderdonkColleyville, TX
My dad has had the chance to go in the past and he said to hit the pro shop early and then go watch some golf. This oppurtunity doesn't come along often, so get a good souveneir and then go watch the best in the world play! Have fun and be sure to post pics!
I think I will hit the pro shop first and get a flag and then see if I get get some of the players to sign it. Thanks for the input Jonderdonk!
There are only certain places they allow the autographs. Your best bet is to be at the practice range mid-day. You get the morning golfers coming in, and the afternoon players warming up.
Thanks Todd. I didn't know that. That should give me plenty of time to walk the course and get many photos in the morning and then concentrate on the autographs in the afternoon..
