It was beautiful fall afternoon in Michigan. The leaves were beginning to change color. It was a typical day of playing golf with my friends at our local country club. As we approached the tee on the 15th par three hole I was feeling pretty good as I had almost holed out my second shot on the previous par four from about 150 yds leaving a 6 inch putt. I pulled out an 8 iron put switched to a 7 as the wind was in our face. I hit a nice shot at the hole and knew it would be on the green. It tracked toward the hole and my friend said he thought it went in the hole. Because I had recent eye surgery for cataracts I said I also thought it had disappeared. So we looked through our golf binoculars and didn’t see anything on the green. We drove to the hole and as I approached the cup I could see a yellow hue from the white cup. One more step and I saw the ball in the hole. I’m 74 years old with 60 years playing this game and I had registered my first hole in one.
