  1. It was just a beautiful day in Banks, Oregon at Quail Valley Golf Course. Temperature around 70 degrees at about 8:30am, slight wind in our face from the tee. I had the honors, so i was first to hit. The hole is not long, but the green is sloped back to front, and the pin was tucked about 20 feet behind a bunker. I was playing in a Senior Men's Day event with 30 other golfers.

I had visualized my shot hitting behind the pin and using the spin i normally generate with Titleist Pro V-1's balls to bring my ball back to the hole. Well, when I hit it - my first thought was - hey - this is pretty much exactly how i thought it should be. It hit exactly where I had visualized and then it began spinning back to the hole. Our greens are fast and true and the pace of the ball was pretty good. It hit the pin and just went straight down. It hit hard, so I was thinking it may not have gone in, but i looked like it did. I turned to look at my group and the other guys were celebrating and confirming.

We went up to the hole and it was in! Unbelievable. We took a few pictures and then started the discussion about beers in the clubhouse - which the Quail Valley Pro Shop spotted me $50 for the celebration with my friends. What a day to remember.
