I was asked to participate in a member/guest tournament at Hickory Grove Golf Course. During our 1st round of match play we came up to hole #8. It is a par 3 and was measured at 151 yards. It was a stormy day when I pulled my 9 iron to play my tee shot. Unfortunately, nobody in the foursome was able to see it go into the cup but we all heard it hit the flagstick. I didn’t know if I should be celebrating or not. As we waited for our competitors to finish up their tee shots, my partner and I were discussing whether or not it was a hole-in-one. As we drove up to the green we did not see any ball on the green. It wasn’t until I looked in the cup when I finally got the confirmation of what we thought could have been.
