  1. I recently changed where I focus my eyes on the ball. I look at the front edge of the ball when hitting my irons. Chunks are a thing of the past. Driver, I look at the back edge. Where do you focus on the ball?

Similar for me. With irons I focus where I want the club to contact the ground, which is roughly the front of the ball.

For me I look at the front edge for irons, back edge for driver, and center ball for fairway woods.

Always Always Always front edge for short irons and moving further back as the club grows. Does it always work? Not always! LOL

Please forgive me, and correct me if I'm wrong.;any good iron player will tell you, good iron contact is with the back of the ball first, then the turf.To my knowledge, the front of the ball, in my eyes, has nothing to do with the strike, irregardless of wether you come in steep or flat.So why would you focus your eyes on an irrelevant point of contact ?

I think head movement has a lot to do with mis-hits, and probably isn't given enough credence as a swing flaw. If my contact isn't great,I try to focus on the number on the ball to keep my head still.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks for posting.

I always focus on the back of the ball with all clubs, but I'm anxious to try your method of looking at the front with irons for comparison.

Honestly, never really thought about it. Just try to make solid contact with the ball with whatever club I am using.

Of the tee, I place the number of where i want to strike the ball and focus on that. On the course, I do the same but focus on a single dimple.
