  1. As an aging golfer my club head speed has dropped considerably. As a result my long irons fly lower and about the same distance. Wondering if hybrids could help.

Hard for us to tell you what would help. I would certainly give them a try. Age has a funny way of affecting our game. Biggest improvement for age compensation is getting to the gym and work on balance and rotation exercises. Took a little time but worked for me. I swear it has brought back some color to my hair, but my wife continues to assure me that it hasn't.

Take a look at Freddie Couples' bag. He now has 4 or 5 head covers in there. Give some hybrids a try.

One other to thing to take into consider. Ensure that you are playing the correct shafts. Why I always go to my fitter when getting new additions to my bag. I really like my TSR1 hybrids, but due to my stubborness I am having to change the shafts in them. At 78 still thinking like a 50 year old. Not happening. My fitters said, we told you so.

Hybrids are great...but sometimes woods are better.
Go see your fitter and compare numbers between hybrids and fairway metals.
Some tour pros are playing fairway metals more often than hybrids.
I currently play a 5 metal and it's one of my favorite clubs.

    Hi,
If you have same distances with long irons (4/5/6) it is time to review the setup.
I found that hybrid 4, fairway wood 7, and hybrid 5 have a good potential to find a place in a bag of less young golfers.
No secret, fitting is the way to go.
