Well after I believe a bad fitting and six rounds with the GT4 and the xstiff shaft I went back in and had a re evaluation with another fitter. What a difference to go to the GT3 with a stiff flex. Got back to a nice little draw and I can feel the clubhead again. My issues were a constant push right and much inconsistency to find the fairway. Swing speed right around 94-95 with a ball speed 140ish. Just saying don't do what I did and walk out of a fitting just going with a first fit solution. The xstiff shaft should have signaled a red flag for me. Ask questions.

Yep. Was a horrible fitting in both head and shaft.

There is variation in the quality of performance in every profession. It might be doctors, lawyers, house painters, or anything out there. Don’t be afraid to get references and find out how well someone has performed in the past or get a second opinion from a different person. Sorry you had a bad initial experience but good on you to not be satisfied until to found what works for you. Wishing you many great rounds in your GT3.

I had a bad experience at a major golf retailer. After the fitting, they had just the driver club I needed in inventory. Well, it was just the club to get out of their inventory. I’ll drive a hundred miles to get to a Premier fitting center or a Titleist sponsored fitting before I go back to a place focused on sales. I ask a lot of questions on how “we” got to the final choice. I also don’t want to know what is in my hands until closer to the end. Keeping my bias out of the process.

That Xstiff shaft with those numbers was a give away. in my opinion. Needed a few more MPH to get the head thru the ball. That should have been evident at the first fitting. Glad you got it all squared away and are a happy golfer. Was this fitting at a retail store?

Beware of Golf Galaxy for fittings. I know a fitter at my local Golf Galaxy, and they get a commission on club sales. Personally, I would only go to a Certified Titleist Fitter when getting fit for Titleist equipment.

All that matters now is you have something you like and happy with!
  9. My coach did say that you should be at 108+ swing speed to move up to x-stiff... Glad you got a better shaft for a great driver!

Call me a little old fashioned, but I'll never understand why you would try to get a good club fitting on a mat with an indoor simulator.
A trip down memory lane - when I was 17 years old they came out with those mechanical bulls. I knew a lot of bull riders who could ride those things all day, but put them on the back of a real bull and in a few seconds you could tell they were all hat and no cowboy.
Same story with golf. I hear how well they do on the indoor simulator with no weather and a perfect lie every swing, but get them out on the course and they got no game.
Short story - get your fittings done in the same arena you plan to play in.
And if your kid comes to you one day and says he wants to ride bulls, convince them to try golf first. It'll hurt a lot less, they can do it the rest of their life, and 50 years later they won't be still living with that hurt.

For me, it seem that you made a very good move to correct this situation.
Also your selection for the GT3 is excellent.
Both, GT2 and GT3 have a lot of love.
I am looking at them now.
I should have a fitting in beginning 2025 for driver and maybe 5 wood.
