You can't go by serial number as they recycle over time and it's easy to copy a serial number onto a counterfeit club. When people purchase a new club, the serial number is used to tie the warranty to the original owner. You can find a link at the bottom of the website for registering your clubs. Purchase new from an authorized Titleist retailer or do your best to follow club history or buy from a reputable used shop. If the deal is too good to believe, it probably is a fake.

Check with Titleist. They can conform the number is real and if it has been reported to be copied in counterfeiting.
Best solution? Only buy if you can authenticate the chain of custody, or if it is a large retailer with an ironclad guarantee. Garage resellers on eBay can vanish if the purchase is for a counterfeit. At least in the US, avoid shipping from outside the US.
