I play the 21 T100 irons and have been tinkering with my mechanics and swing thoughts and paying attention to my ball striking data/results. I have come to the conclusion that the true sweet spot is actually just inside of center of the irons clubface. When I catch the ball a touch towards the heel of the iron it is like butter. The ball just jumps, makes a different sound, and carries what I would consider true distance with average to minimal effort. I am wondering if anyone else out there has experienced the same thing. It has been a truly life altering epiphany moment. Am I imagining this??? Your Thoughts on this matter please....

Center, 3 groves up, and bottoming stroke going through the ball. Fortunately, even without the buttery feel, can get a little toey without a great loss of distance. My guess the turf interaction is at least as important compared to center or a little inside of center for the sweet spot. If I’m towards the toe, I’m too low on the face if not blading the shot.

    Hi David,
I think you are right about the exact position of sweet spot of iron.
I do not know if this applied to all irons, but some irons are like what you described.

I also think that forgiveness of iron could dissimulate the exact location of sweet spot.

I remembered hearing on Youtube, Mr. Miura on a fitting, describing the place on the face to hit the ball. On his irons (a blade), just a little closer the heel.

    Good golf season
