Anyone make the change recently? I was fittted for a new driver 2 years ago and switched from stiff to regular, added more distance and accuracy. Just demoed a Titleist T350 with AMT Red R300 shafts and wow. I was playing AP3 with AMT Black Stiff. The T350 had a higher launch and more distance. Made the change immediately. Looking forward to better scores in the future!

I always tell people that there are club fitters, and really good club fitters. Find the latter (not just a salesman), you'll get the right setup. Enjoy the new clubs.

Yes - in my ate 50s, I moved from stiff shafts to regular in my all my Titleists woods, hybrids and irons... still working at age 62. I guess next will be graphite in my irons down the road..

Last year I moved to 5.5 from 6.0 flex. Positive move with great results.

    Hi,
For my irons I moved from stiff to regular, it is a positive change for me. But on woods and driver, I still in stiff, for now. But getting older, swing speed reduce so, stiffness of shaft should follow.

Went to lightweight senior shafts a few years ago. Nothing like letting the golf club do the work for you. As you get older, you lose flexibility and clubhead speed. Those are the facts of life.

Stiff shaft helps me with consistency in my golf swing because of my higher swing speeds.

    I guess it's time for a fitting!

62g regular on the driver. 70g regular on the fairways and hybrid, S200 on the irons and wedges.

I'm going through that now. I changed out the shaft in my 3 wood late last summer from a Project X RDX Smoke 65 stiff to a Graphite Design MT 5.5 and have noticed a significant difference. I believe the 5.5 is a "stiff regular". I love the way it feels and performs. Right now I'm swapping back and forth between 2 shafts in my driver (same PX RDX Smoke as the 3 wood version, and an older HZRDUS Smoke im 10). The im 10 is mid spin and feels a little softer, but as my swing speed slows with age,I'm thinking its time for a regular shaft in the driver.

What kind of swing speeds are you at right now? I ask because I have a set of stiff irons and a set of regular. I took my regular flex irons out for a round the other day just for fun and my accuracy greatly improved and no loss of distance. I’m swinging the club high 80s to low/mid 90s. Not sure why regular flex worked as well as they did?!

  13. I bought a set of T200s regular flex in 2020 off the rack. In retrospect I should have gotten fitted. I tried a bunch of irons and these just felt right. Fast forward to 2024 and I’m at the range and the head of my 9 iron flys off. Come to find out I was using regular all this time when I should have been using a stiff flex.5 of my irons were bent at the hosel. I switched out all of the shafts from AMT to True Temper black tour issue stuff shafts. My consistency has improved and my distances stayed about the same.
