  1. Thinking of getting a new 7 wood, should I wait for the new woods? Maybe the TSR’s will com down in price. Got fitted and the TSR2 was perfect for me.

The TSR fairways have had a $50 price cut. You can enjoy it this season

The TSR2 will not disappoint! I tested it at my local shop and it was the best wood I've ever hit.

I just had a Titleist fitting and put the TSR2 16.5 fairway wood immediately in the bag. You will not regret adding the 7 wood to your bag.

I absolutely love the TSR1 20 and 23 fairways. I just installed a 38.5" Tensei 70g stiff on the 26H and changed the headweight to 3g.

    The TSR2 7 wood is OK. There is a difference of 2 swingweight points vs the TSR1. I have a +2 (11g) headweight on the TSR1 with a 65g Tensei R at 41.25. The TSR2 had -4 (5g).

My 9 wood has a slightly soft-stepped Diamana 72S with the 11g weight and a 40.5" shaft. I can hit it off a number of uneven lies.

TSR2 has a more penetrating ball flight. It also has a smaller head vs TSR1. Both can shot-shape.

One thing I might add is I have been using a 7 wood since 2007. I started out with an Orlimar 21 with a DG R300 steel shaft. Played a 975F 20.5 for 3 years. Had an experimental "fun period" between 2010-2011 where I used persimmon 21 and 28 fairways and 34H from Louisville Golf. Played a Burner 7W until I switched to Titleist in 2012. I started with a 910F 19 (but was set to 20.5, which is essentially a 7 wood) with a 9 wood to fill the gap between it and the 910H 27. Since 2014, have used the combination of 910F 21 and 910H 27 thru 2017. Since 2019, the combo has pretty much been a 910F 21 and 816H1 27 (occasionally alternating with the 910H 27). A 7 wood around 41" and properly weighted works wonders. You can hit them off just about anything. AND they're pretty accurate. I've nearly eagled a few par 4s and came 3 feet from a hole in one with a 7 wood.

Gary Player commented on "Playing Lessons from the Pros" how he would have won a few more Masters with a 9 wood.

Even back in 1972, Lee Trevino told his viewers "Get you a 6 wood". I remember a number of the golfers at the country club had Hogan 6 woods back then.

There is that "knock the snot out of it" feeling one gets with a 7 wood or 9 wood vs a 21 or 23 hybrid. My dad even told me in 2007 his pro recommended 4 and 7 woods to most of the players there. It sounds like "golf shot."

Personally I'd do it now with the $50 price cut and the fact you can still custom order what you want. It's a sweet spot for getting new clubs. I've played Titleist woods since the 975 series and without a doubt the TSR line is my favorite ever.
