TS3 Driver: Anybody have this issue with the CG weight?

  1. I bought a used, but very good condition TS3 driver this weekend and I’m pretty happy with it. I have it setup currently with a Fujikura Speeder Pro TS stiff flex shaft in the A1 configuration, and the weight currently set for neutral standard weighting.

The thing is though, is that the previous owner had set up the CG weighting for draw I think, and both the weights were stacked at one end of the capsule rather than one at each end. When I tried initially to install the adjustable weight on the other end though, it would not readily go on, and needed light persuasion into place, on the form of inserting the capsule into the driver head, then the loose weight, and using the screw cap to push it into place. It seems to be alright, just wondering why it was such a tight fit to begin with.

Anybody else have this happen? Is the repeated shock of striking the ball causing a small amount of deformation in the polymer end of the weight perhaps? Thanks!

This weight method was abandoned in later models for this very reason. Some weights were manufactured to a slightly larger diameter and some people also purchased third party replacements that got stuck in the tube. Since this is such an old model, I would just caution you to minimize the frequency you take it in and out of the head.

    Hi,
I played TS3 driver in past. Never had this problem. If I remembered, you place the weight (round tubing) in the end on toe (for fade) side and the magnet hold it.

My question is, does the club and weight are the oem Titleist?
I used after market weights to adjust swing weight and never had any problem.

If the closing screw fits and have there is no loose with the weight, it should be correct.
If the weight is moving, that is a bad news.
