2008 AP1 to 2023 T100

As far as I know Titleist does not sell club components. You will have to buy a set a clubs and have the shafts pulled and swapped out.

It might be cheaper just to order your new clubs with the proper shafts.

Brad...there are several issues with what you talk about in your post. First: when you had your T100 fitting was it with the same shaft in your AP1s? If not, your current shaft may not provide the same results you are currently experiencing with your AP1s or the results from your T100 fitting. Second: you can't purchase just the Titleist iron heads, you purchase the entire club (head, shaft & grip). Third: if you do purchase new T100 irons (complete) and have someone swap shafts, you will have invalidated your Titleist warranty. What you should try is looking in the current Custom Options Book to see if your current shaft is available and if it is a standard option (no upgrade cost) or is it a custom option with an upgrade cost. If it is available (with or without an upgrade cost), it would be wiser to order the T100s with new shafts rather than installing your 14 year old shafts (assuming they are the original shafts in your AP1s).

The shafts are interchangeable.

The AP1 to T100 is a definitive change in head style without even getting into improved design from 8 later releases. Not to mention the shafts are 16 years old. With the improvements in technology, let alone manufacturing tolerances, I’m not sure why you can’t find a suitable new shaft and would go ahead and void the 1 year warranty on the new clubs.

Titleist has so many no upcharge iron shafts, the easiest way to save money is to order them with a preferred new shaft. Titleist does not sell heads alone and custom orders are the same price as off the rack irons, per club. With a custom no up-charge shaft, extra length, and the swing weight set to your specifications. Adding your own longer shafts will increase the swing weight from how a rack set is built at the standard length.

Titleist only sells assembled clubs so you would have to order fully assembled set, have the shafts changes out which will void the warranty. How a fitter does his/her job is to match you with a head/shaft combo so the T100 irons after you switch out shafts might not perform optimally for you. Ultimately you will pay more to have them built twice so my advice would be to follow your fitter's direction and get all new. Keep your AP1 as a back-up set. Good luck and enjoy the new sticks.

I don't think you can buy just the heads from Titleist. If the shafts are as old as the heads, you should put out for the whole thing per your fitting. If you hang onto the new ones as long as you did the AP1's it's money well spent.

Should be a straight swap. Diameters and tapers haven’t changed. I’ve switched my 718 AP2 irons into T200 in long irons, also just got a set of t150 for the rest, although they were new (but same shafts).

Standard lengths also havn’t changed.

Your club builder will have to double check swing weights etc.
