TSR hybrids

I have the TSR2 18 hybrid, it’s an awesome club, very easy to hit. I can easily get 200 yds total, it will probably replace my 4I or work as a 5w alternative. I like it so much I ordered a 21 degree.

I just upgraded my 818-2 hybrid to a TSR-1 primarily to account for changes to me rather than improvements within the hybrid lines. Although the draw, neutral, and fade weights are not missed from the 818. The TSR-1 is distinctly a different animal from the 818 model, with both a lighter shaft and weighting in the head to launch higher. For me, it restored much of what I’ve lost.

I never noted much difference in hybrids back to the 913 model. I doubt you’ll notice much difference between the TS-2 and the TSR-2, besides a prettier face and cleaner bottom. Unless your 5 year old shaft is no longer optimal for you. You’d know that if it has lost distance or rolls out differently. If not, why not wait for the next launch later this fall? The TS was best of breed when launched The TSR line is still a steel face. If the next line has the military titanium face, that will be more than an incremental change from prior editions.

Or if you are looking for an excuse, then, sure, the TSR will smoke the TS every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Go for it.

Thanks Don. Thinking I'll keep it for a bit. Figure if I'm not hearing a lot of accolades then there probably isn't too noticeable a difference.
I upgraded to a Graphite Design shaft a couple years ago and really like the consistency. It was such a noticeable improvement for me that I now pay more attention to the shaft offerings than the latest heads.
As for a prettier face and cleaner bottom, I'll save that for my dating preference.

The TSRs are great clubs, if you get fit and get the right shafts. I have "not" had the time I need this winter to get the proficiency I need to say it is an awesome club yet. Not the clubs fault, but mine. Difficult to hit a hybrid off wet short fairways with new clubs when you cannot practice. Point and fact. Bad weather and just to many visits to my physical therapist.

I was fitted and purchased the TSR1s in November/December. 18* Fairway, 20* hybrid, 23* hybrid. Have had them less than 90 days and may have each of them less than a dozen times. They really differ from my old hybrids 816h and 818h with Fujikura Motore Speeder shafts. Really loved those shafts which are no longer in production.

Looking to add a 3 hybrid possibly or should I just go with a 5 wood? I have an ap1 4 iron then 5-48 T150. Need to add one more club to fill that gap from my 3 wood. Was thinking a 3 hybrid, 5 or 7 wood.

You didn’t include a driving iron as a possibility. Clearly, we all pretty much fall into one of three camps, hybrids, fairways, or driving irons. Find a Titleist fitting, the $100 fee is refundable on a purchase and try all 3. The fitter will want to know what your expectations are for launch and to hold greens, and what distance gap to fill will work for you. Whether I prefer fairway over hybrid is not transferable to you.

I have the TSR2 in the 18 and 21 and love them both. Before that I had used my trusty 913H for years and the transition was seamless. Very confidence inspiring look and easy to hit.

Just ordered the TSR3 3 hybrid this morning. Found it really nice to hit and it was launching easily. Gapping sits perfect between my T200 utility 4i and TSR3 3 wood.

Only a 48/gap wedge left for me to get to complete the full bag.

I love my TSR2 3H and 4H. When I bought a whole new set of clubs last spring, the all black T200's came with 4-PW, but I knew I'd replace the 4iron with a 4H. I've never had a 5w in the bag, always driver, 3w, and then irons. The 3H and 4H are much more forgiving in my opinion. The club I belong to, the first hole is a par 5. From the second to the back tees this winter, I've been able to go driver, 3H to the green a couple of times. Usually when I miss it left or right, I'm in the first or second cut. To get some extra yardage gained on the second shot, I'll hit 4H with no issues out of the medium to high thick stuff. With ease, I'm hitting my 4H around 205 off the deck and 3H around 215ish-225. I haven't played with the club head/shaft adjustments yet. I naturally hit a small draw as it is. So far I've left all of my TSR2 woods and hybrids set to neutral.

My ball flight is medium to high with moderate spin. These hybrids make the longer par 4's and par 5's a little more reachable in 2 as long as the stars line up. See if your local golf shop or Dicks Sporting Goods have any demos or hit up a Titleist demo day to get a better feel for what your needs are. But my experience with them has been positive all around!
