  1. Has anyone had the chrome flake off on their T300 irons? I have had them for less than 12 months, and it is just the 9 iron. All the others are fine. Is this something I can get a replacement for? Or do I just have to del with it?

*Picture didn't come out clear but the flaking is on the top and side near the hosel.

This is a user forum. Your best option is to work with your dealer to get Titleist to look at it.. They have a year’s warranty against defects.
  3. Thanks, Don. I plan on reaching out. I just wanted to know if this was a common thing with the T300 irons or was mine a once off.

Well, I’ve never had a surface problem with any of the AP1 or T300 irons I’ve owned. As well as a T400. My current is the latest version T300.
I did have the epoxy breakdown on a AP1 2012 - but being at the USGA Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run for several days with daily temp100 F and storing the clubs in the trunk may have been a contributing factor…

Make sure they are not hitting an uncovered putter or something on your cart. Like Don said, getting with the place you purchased them and being prepared for them to send in the 9 iron for inspection. Titleist honors their 1-year warranty but wants to see if they can understand the problem to know if they have a defective batch or if some other outside factor has contributed to the problem. If you know the problem was caused by something outside the normal playing conditions, it should not be on Titleist to repair/replace. Good luck. I love my T300's.
  6. I had the same problem with my 6 iron. Chrome was bubbling off on the sole and hosel. I called Titleist and they had me send in through my nearest dealer.

I received the club back in a couple of weeks with a new head. Unfortunately the shaft was bent in transit so it went straight back to a Titleist for a reshaft!

All is great now. Good luck.

Have had T300s since they first came out. No issues. Follow Don's lead and take your receipt to where you purchased the clubs for best results and they will work with Titleist.
  8. They will replace them under warranty. However it shouldn't happen at all, and my local golf shop tells me it's not the first time it's happened. Affected 2 of mine so far. Am thinking of asking for my money back
  9. I had the same issue I sent my 7 iron back and got a new one free under warranty

  13. Bought my T300's in May this year. Early July noticed 7 iron was flaking. Took it to outlet where i purchased and still yet to be replaced. Early August and 43° Wedge flaking too and 7 iron increased flaking in two areas. Waiting again on Titleist to respond over and above hearing from purchase outlet that there are no T300 replacement heads in stock in South Africa or the UK. Waiting to meet Titleist SA rep this Thursday. Not really impressed with ongoing delay in what is clearly a Chrome plating failure
  14. I've had this occur to 3 of my irons, unfortunately all at different times, so I've had to work with GolfGalaxy each time (who have been great in my experience). They said they rarely see this, especially with Titleist irons... Most upsetting, is my replacement 7 is again having this issue.

    7 Iron - 4 Iron - 7 Iron (again)
  15. Yes...same with my new custom fit T300 Irons I purchased 8 months ago. It's like the electrolysis process for the Chrome plating didn't work correctly. I took them back to the store I purchased the set from and the guy at the front desk was extremely uninformed and said it was normal for the clubs to do this!!!! I have had many sets of Titelist over the years and it has NEVER been an issue on any other Iron. The Chrome plating process was not correctly done. I had a discussion with the Manager and he is helping me send them back to Titelist .
It is bad on three or four of the 8 irons and starting to show on all the others , its not in the same place its at the top, bottom and side of the club, so its not isolated to just one area. Paying this much for new custom fit clubs you expect the chrome plating to outlast the grips on the clubs at least.

Service after the sale can make all the difference. As a loyalist (opens me up to criticism I can handle) I do business with sites that are Titleist specialists. The prices are all locked so why go to a retail outlet that carries all the top brands. And is a master of none. Updating order status and how to return defective equipment under warranty should not be the golfer’s problem.
Terry, hopefully Titleist will graciously make you whole, although you may have to accept the T350 irons if your T300’s are NLA.

Titleist is making good on them right? Titleist heads are not manufacturered by them in the US like their golf balls.
They are made in Japan and shipped to Carlsbad, CA. There they go thru an inspection process and assembled. Like all golf club brands, an occasional bad run of heads can occur not under their direct control.

I have had my custom T300's since Nov 2022 and not until early this summer did the chrome finish bubble on the sole near the toe of the 9 iron in 3 or 4 small spots. It looked almost like the finish blistered. No other irons demonstrated this. I had read quite a few posts on TT about this happening. I can 100% say that it was not caused by damage from another club, exposure to any chemicals, mistreatment, striking a rock or pavement, or being dropped accidentally. I wipe my club after each use (on the course) before putting back in in my bag and clean with only water/toothbrush after the round and wipe dry. I contacted the pro who fitted me and that I purchased them through at a local course, who happens to be the local Titleist rep, and he said drop it off and it would be sent back to Titleist to be re-headed. That is exactly what I did. I had it back, drop shipped directly from Titleist, in about 3 weeks total from when I dropped it off. It has to be an unexpected/unintentional manufacturing problem either that occurs intermittently, or maybe just with certain batches of heads. Titleist did a great job of taking care of it.
  19. Did they replace it with another T300 or the T350? I’ve heard they don’t have T300 stock available?
