I need to regrip my AP2s this winter.  I've been using the Golf Pride Multi-Compound (Ribbed) for several years, but I was a bit disappointed in their performance this summer.  The rubber half seemed to lose its tackiness considerably faster than in past years.

Does anyone have any experience with the Iomic grips on their irons?  Particularly, in hot, humid conditions like we have in Minnesota in the summer?  I tried an Iomic putter grip this summer and liked it a lot, but I am a bit hesitant to pay $16-17 per grip if they don't perform well.

Other suggestions (must have reminder rib)?

    Thanks.  J.A.C.

I'll be interested to see how people answer this thread as I'm also unhappy with my new grips. I'm coming from the other side of the coin though. I have used Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips ever since college, about 40 years now. All of a sudden this year they came out with a new formulation and the silly things are actually too tacky. I feel like I have pine tar on them and the sensation in my hands isn't comfortable. I can't explain it, but with my huge hands, I feel like the club is moving around and tugging at me. My first impression was that I might be regripping the club in mid swing, but there's no wear on the glove to suggest it.

I'm looking for something else too.

I've got a pair of hams also.  I switched to GP multicompound mid-size. Great color selection also.   Check out the Golf Pride website for a grip selection process.   I had Tour Wraps and never really felt right.   GP oversize was too big, mid size was just right.

    John,

I work for Golf Pride in the Southwestern states.  Over time the colored part of the MCC does lose it's tackiness.  A few factors for the wear:  1. The colored rubber  2. The environmental effects over time. 3. Grip usage and wear.

The other models that are ribbed:  Tour Velvet M58X and M60X, Tour Velvet Cord(Black) M58X and M60X, V-55 M60X, and V-55 Cord M60X.  I play with the V-55 M60X and have been very happy with that grip.  I grew up playing ribbed grips and continue to prefer them.  The V-55 Cord M60X has our new BCT cord, which is a thinner cotton fiber and it also feels good.  It is not as hard on your hands as the old cord.

Hope this information is helpful.  You can also go to www.golfpride.com to do some research.

    Deedee L--

A belated thanks for the referral.  My daughter and I went through some fittings at Titleist's Oceanside facility late last fall.  I  eventually bought a 910 D2 driver with a Tour Velvet Cord ribbed grip.  She eventually bought a set of AP1 irons and a couple Vokey wedges, all with Tour Velvet ribbed grips.  Now we're just waiting (quite impatiently) to get rid of all the snow and dry out the golf courses here in Minnesota so we can do something other than just hit golf balls using launch monitors and golf simulators.

I've got to get the rest of my clubs regripped next week.  Trying to decide between the Tour Velvet Cord ribbed grip or, as you suggest, the V-55 Cord ribbed grip.  I'm thinking hard about the latter simply because the grip markings on top give me one more reference point when things (inevitably) go haywire.

Here's to the great game of golf.

    Thanks.  J.A.C.
