Hope someone could enlighten me. Tried to google but that didn't help much... Can sameone tell the difference between old HZRDUS Smoke and the new HZRDUS Smoke RDX? Is the difference only marginal or something that really affects your game?

  2. I found no difference in ball flight or spin numbers when fit for the new TSi3 with the RDX shaft. I currently have the TS3 with the original Smoke shaft.

RDX is made with a newer, stronger graphite providing a more stable platform, especially on heel and toe strikes.

    Hi,
First, I did not try it and I only tell you what I read on it.

what I read, is the manufacturer include a better composite call Hextow carbon fibers.
It think that shaft should be better and maybe more uniform in quality.

The shaft should be superior to the previous smoke version.
But I do not think it will be days and nights, only better by the quality of products used.
The project x smoke is a very good shaft for agressive swinger, and new version should be only better.

If you want more infos on it, you could visit the site of True temper shafts.

But the best way to see if it fit you, is to try it when you will have an opportunity.

    Best regards,

Looks like the biggest things is the use of special materials

I believe TXG had a video where they talked about this. If I recall it was a different material similar to vellacore that made the shaft more stable in deflection. Less “gear effect”

Similar profiles for each, the difference is in the new material used in the manufacturing of the RDX shaft.

At least those are my observations after playing the HZRDUS Smoke in my TS3 driver and fairway woods, and then using the RDX shaft at a recent fitting event for the TSi models.

It's slightly lighter and more stable that the original version using an upgrading version of carbon fibers. Is it a significant difference, no. It's one you will notice in when the shaft loads.
