    Hi Guys,

Hope you are all well. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to be spotted or chosen to test the new prototype balls. I have been a member for around 3 years and have used Pro V1x for around 10 years now so I would love to be able to test some of the new ones but I have never been chosen.

I don't know if just the US is testing at the moment but I am desperate to try the 25' X and also the Pro V1X+ but I know those balls are super tough to get.

    ALSO!

A player I photographed for LIV a few weeks ago, Matt Jones still uses the 2017 X ball. When I asked him he said that he preferred the old ball and has used them since 17. I have checked on eBay but they're super hard to find so does anyone know of anywhere you can get the old model balls brand new?

    Thanks in advance, Oli

Well, lots of us in US have been around for more than 3 years and never seen a test ball. The selection is relatively random, although there does seem some to being matched to the listed ball in one’s profile. But there are thousands of TT members for a couple of dozen early prototype testers. Not great odds.

You’d need to get on a major tour to get any version new prior to 2021, direct from Titleist. The 2021 version is itself not common but pops up at discount outlets in the US. Duffner was at onetime reputed to be still on the 2017/2019 version as well. Pros are sensitive to their flight window. They won’t upgrade if a new release changes that window.

Technically, the X Left Dash was released sometime around the 2017/2019 time frame. Now in the commercial stream, it may well get a new version in the 2025 release cycle.

Attend any UK events scheduled in the next couple of months and they might give out sleeves at those outings. No guarantee but more likely than being one of the random mail out testers.
  4. Today I received the Titleist Box with one sleeve of the 25 protoype balls inside and I was absolutes keen on testing them. They felt pretty good. Not too firm off the tee and had a good sound hitting them. I was wondering whether these were prototypes of the 2025 ProV1 or ProV1x to do a more in depht comparison to the current generation

If you received one sleeve it is either the ProV1 or ProV1x depending on the color of the number.
