I've been scouring the interwebs over the last few days and weeks trying to find out how well the RCT balls work with the Garmin R10 and if there are any distinct differences between them and a normal ball. I haven't found a whole lot of great results that I could confidently say "yes" or "no", so I decided to spring for a dozen and test them out myself. Since it's now cold and disgusting outside until late March where I live, I'll have plenty of time to evaluate my purchase.
As I sit and impatiently wait for them to arrive (with a new Players glove, of course), I figured it toss it out to the rest of TT - does anyone here have any experience with the RCT balls? Did they provide any additional or superior data points? What launch monitors did you use them with?
I am primarily interested in more accurate spin and distance data from my R10 indoors, which is where I use it 99% of the time. Currently, I feel like my R10 is about 25% short on distance - I can attribute some of that to the lack of time that the unit has to "see" my ball before it hits my net 8' away, but I wonder how much if it has to do with radar wave reflection and interference compromising "sight" of a standard ball - hence the purchase.
Let me know if you've used them and how you like them! I'll update this after they arrive and I get some time in the net with them!
