Hey all,
Really more of confirmation of data that most of you already know I'm sure. The weather having changed to where the home club has more open spots, I had some fun and played 2 balls for my own "brand testing" lol. I played the front 9 with the ProV and the TP5x and my biggest takeaways were this:
-ProV had much better stopping on approach, the TP5 had too much backspin and would often times zip 2-4 feet more, (worse with sloped greens)
-ProV felt much more flush/soft on putting strokes vs more of a solid ball on TP (preference here but I prefer the soft contact on putts
-Tee shots - I can't say I hit it consistently on the face enough back to back to give data on these two, however the PROv was about 10 yds longer on the 3 holes where it's a more consistent layup drive.
I was one of those that also switched up models/balls during offseason/casual, I have to say I'm an advocate for staying in the same ball that suits you all the time.
Cheers!
