Alright folks, it will be inevitable that my 2021 ProV1 supply will run out in the coming months unless I never lose one again (ha!). I know all about the tech specs, new technologies, watched countless videos, and the differences between the 2023 V1 and V1x … but what did you guys end up doing? (I plan on playing a sleeve of each to see how it goes, but I’m interested in what others have done…)
I liked the 2020 AVX … but then found the 2021 V1 fit my game perfectly … just a touch of a harder ball, I could better feel it through impact, spin perfect, consistent across the board, etc, I could go on. The 2021 V1x I strongly dislike; much too hard and too spinny. The 2022 AVX is WAY too soft.
I tried the 2023 V1 and it was noticeably unfortunately softer (compared to 2021 V1), had a more mulled sound at impact … and the 2023 V1x is softer than the 2021 V1x, but had a “brighter” impact compared to 2021 V1. My personal feel puts the 2021 V1 right between the 2023s’ V1 and V1x. So, I’m torn.
I’m looking for some feedback about what you all have chosen now that 2021 V1s are no longer (sad day). I’m currently a 12.5 index, Driver is 240(ish) carry (2700 RPM spin; swings peed 93mph), 7i is 140 (6600 RPM spin), PW is 105 yards (8000 RPM spin). If I hit a green w/ an iron (hopefully!) it’ll drop and 1-2 hop stop, which I love. I’m not the furthest hitter in our group by any stretch; my strengths are accuracy and 100 yards and in.
So … 2021 V1 users … what did you pick?
