V1x changes for 2023??

The biggest difference is the new high gradient dual core. If you look for old posts from the beginning of the year from the Titleist staff, you will see more or go to the "Ball" tab on the website and select ProV1x and scroll down to read more about the current technology behind it. I don't know if the cover material changed slightly too or if it is just the different core material but it does feel slightly softer (less clickie) than previous versions. I have been fit in both the previous and current versions and know it gives me the best performance for my game.

Interested to see what comes back on this, been gaming the v1x for a while but tried a few v1s a few days ago and love them so will see where i go.

I did a short game experience at Manchester Lane last week. I normally play the left dash and was hitting short wedges with that and the ProV1, comparing. A ball fitter was there as well and asked me if I've tried the new V1x and told him no. I did a ball fitting once, a few years ago and it wasn't for me AND felt it was too firm for me. Well he corrected me, it's less firmer then the left dash AND better around the green. After a few chip shots around the green with the V1x and see how it responded, WOW. Definitely caught me off guard. So I can say, I can tell the difference between the 2023 V1x and the older version. It was impressive to see and definitely less firmer then the left dash, again caught me by surprise.

depending on your swing speed, the new V1X is longer than the Left Dash which shocked me completely.....only by 1.5 yards but still.....

After living through multiple new releases, what I now do is test the new versions to see how they perform. I agree with Dale that the feel is softer.
From the MSG tests, the left dash is firmer than the new X. The former was developed a couple of releases ago, so the new one is softer than before.
The MSG ball test for slower swing golfers rated the left dash as a better choice than the X. For me, the AVX and left dash just need more spin to get enough launch to maximize distance. Individual variations.
What is closer to being universal is about all golfers lose distance with lower compression balls. It is the unicorns of higher speed golfers that may actually do better with a lower compression - lower spin ball. Softer feel may be a primary criterion to select a lower compression ball, but it comes with trade offs. When Titleist fitters recommend the X (or V) to slower swings, it is based on what works best. It isn’t just to sell product.

As a ProV1x player for years, the two biggest changes I notice is that it is slightly softer and secondly it holds greens better.

For V1 and V1x this year ‘23, the core is the biggest change from ‘21. That gradient core acts like a loaf of bread where it can be firm and fast on the outside but get softer in the middle. Keeps all that spin and great performance that we like around the greens where we’re not using as much of the core. However, when we start decreasing loft in the long irons and woods, the gradient core makes it lower spinning for improved distance and dispersion. The cover materials are the same on both golf balls and has stayed the same from the previous generation. They have different dimple designs for aerodynamics but cover material is the same. I have had a lot of players switch from say ProV1 or Left Dot to ProV1X in fittings so it is certainly something to test out. Left dot and ‘23 V1 are pretty darn similar as well now.

in my ON COURSE testing the V1 and Left dot are not the same for me....in fact, they feel completely different and perform much different....the left dot is consistently 5-8 yards longer off the driver and mid irons....50 yards and in the V1 is a little more predictable but as much as Titleist says these two balls are "Very similar"...i havent seen it on the course.....trajectory is different as well.....i love the left dot but im about to buy the V1x and test it for myself.....the fact the feel is a little softer is awesome...at 96 compression with the length off the driver thst in my swing speed is longer than the left dash, im excited to try it...

I played my first sleeve of my new 2023 ProV1x's for the season. After playing my remaining (old ProV1x's stash) , this new ProV1x blew it away in stopping on the greens!

I’ve played ProV1x for years. The latest version is absolutely perfect for me. Great distance off the tee, holds greens, softer feel, and great around the greens. When I was fit at TPI Oceanside, my fitter asked what ball I played. I told him ProV1x but would be open to any other suggestions that he might have. At the end of the fitting he told me that he saw no reason to switch to any other version. It was nice to know my thoughts were confirmed by his expertise.

The 23 V1X is the best Titleist ball I have ever played.

Been playing the V1X since the 2015 and this one tops them all. I don't know how Titleist does it, but just when I think I'm playing the best ball Titleist can ever make, the 23 edition arrives!
