Putting alignment

I'm not a fan of the solid line across a ball. I find them distracting. I align my ball with the Titleist script but do not believe this alignment is the end all be all. It's more of a guide to me and feel and pace become more of a factor when it comes to the actual stroke.

Probably can get them customized at Golfballs.com. Titleist up-charges the options they do offer. Offering as a standard would likely displease more than it pleases. There are golfers that will set their ball to not show any markings when addressing a putt.

I used to spend the time to mark the way you do. It came down to I did just as well with the standard side stamp already on the ball. My green reading is far more variable than how long or how deep the alignment is. Assuming I hit the ball square……

I use a different color as marking my ball besides a couple dots so a solid black line would be nice but not necessary. The arrows work fine for me. Keep doing what your are doing Titleist!!!

While some people like a solid black alignment line, others do not. It's easier to add your own than for people who don't want it to "white it out". If you order custom from Titleist, there are quite a few alignment aid options under the logo section you can have added. Golfballs.com also has some heavy black lines they can add if you order from them.

Or just use the ball how it was designed and get your alingement set up with the name of the ball

Personally I hate seeing bold lines on balls when putting as it is more of a put off than an aid

I like to use the side stamp. It is equally useful as when I used to sharpie a line on the ball. Now I typically customize my order when I need a dozen. I typically get my initials stamped however sometimes I pick a stock logo/icon/etc just to change it up. Now I don't have to worry about keeping track of a sharpie.

A variety of brands and styles of golf balls now feature alignment aids, but the (drawn) solid black line isn't used by many.

I just use the small script on the ball and that seems to work for me. I rarely, if ever, mark a ball.

Never used an alignment on the ball or drawn one on the ball. I line up my putt visually & I line putt. I look at the hole and bring my eyes & head back to the ball & stroke it.

I couldn't line up a mark in the right direction I wanted the ball to roll if I had to. I average 31 putts a round so I'm content to putt the ball as it's made & lies on the green.

Plus, all the additional markings I see on a balls would become more distracting to my eyes for me.

Easier to draw one on than take one off. Too many ways to add alignment or line color to help sith identification.

I used the alignment line at the Pro V1x. Arrows on Borge sides. Tried the black line and didn’t feel comfortable.

Not weird at all. There are many of us that are focusing our alignment on our feet, shoulders, and putter face without using a line on the ball. You can have the line perfectly in place but still cut across the ball and miss the putt. I will say that you see more pros using alignment than not these days. Many of them will even stop and align a short putt instead of just walking up and tapping it in. Go with what you feel is more comfortable for you and gives you confidence. Confidence is the key.

I can go either way. Use the alignment arrows on the ball or just put it down and hit it. Haven't seen much difference either way. It is pretty cool though when you use the line and hit the perfect putt. Watching the line stay perfectly straight all the way to the hole.

Good news for those that want the solid black line! At my TT club fitting this week, I received two sleeves of "performance alignment" ProV1X golf balls. They may not be for everyone, but they are perfect to my eye.

I’ve always preferred to not see anything but white when I’m putting or even driving the golf ball. I understand the concept but if feel if you are putting to that line it has to be perfect line and speed and to me it brings some of the feel out of putting. I have thought about trying it again as I know there is a benefit but it just feels off. I do think it should be offered as an option as a lot of golfers like it and I really think for beginners it’s a great tool

I've done a bunch of variations over the last couple years with the clamshell - no markings, single black line, multi color alternating lines, multi black lines, cross hatch, you name it - I've tried it. I've settled on a single black line over the ProV1 line for now and am sure I'll change again sometime soon. I think having some preprinted options would probably help some people out. As little of an inconvenience it is, I'd probably pay an extra couple bucks for a dozen balls marked up with the pattern of my choosing.

Alignment aids are over rated. Personally I like to see the plain white area of the ball when lining up a putt., and I can 3 putt as well as anybody I've played with.

I normally just use the writing, i often use lakeballs during the winter andif they have pre drawn thick lines i dont like to much, but having that as a custom option for people who do use is a great idea and surprised noone offers it.. other brands have it pre done
