  1. I play the velocity for distance and feel. However it does not bite, spin or stop as I want it to. Volley wedges I play. Any suggestions to get distance and bite with Titelist balls? I tried the tour speed don’t like the feel. Also play the prov1 ocassionaly but the velocity is longer.

I also love the Velocity ball! I use it mainly on practice rounds when I know the conditions will be firm and fast and I can get 5-10yds more roll of it. I have a mid-high ball flight so the lower spin doesnt affect me too often; but I do club down and play more roll out on greens too.

    Maybe that might help...?

My normal gamer is the ProV1x for tournament play.

All the vendor neutral blogs consistently declare 2 truths.
    1. Only tour grade urethane covers offer adequate spin. Along with fresh wedge groves and skilled techniques
    2. Softer balls do not travel as far as firmer balls. For slower swing golfers, the distance difference may not be as much of an issue as the feel.

If you are getting more distance with Velocity than with the V or X, is it due to further rollout? Try the AVX or Left Dash Pro-V1x?

Longer is not better if you can't keep it on the green. You may be hitting one less club into a green but if you are then wasting strokes not getting up and down, what is the point? Pick the ball that works best for you on and near the greens and adjust your driver to maximize your distance with that ball. I went ProV1x for the short shots and dropped the driver from 10 degree to 9 degree for a little more roll out. Who wouldn't love an extra 10 yards off the tee but my iron game is much better with the ProV1x.

You may want to try the AVX (3-piece premium urethane) or tour soft (2-piece ionomer). Both have a soft feel.
The tour soft does not spin around the greens as well as the AVX, but it is less expensive.

The velocity is designed for one thing. Distance. Might get a sleeve of the Tour Speed and see how it reacts. Will not cost you the same as the premium balls. The Prov1x left dash is a very long golf ball as is the Prov1 but you were not happy with the Prov1. Long hard balls will not provide the spin you are looking for in any brand. Tour speed might be your second choice.
