2023 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Ball Reviews

Love that Titleist trusts their community to test like this! Going to do more testing this spring to be more intentional with my ball choice so excited for a new Pro V to test with!

Missed out this year again on testing but will buy the new Pro V1 on 25th Jan when released as I have done for many many years

It is nice to get feedback on what they see with these balls; however, I would like to here it also from a woman's perspective since there are differences in a woman's vs. man's swing and how they describe what they are seeing/feeling about their game.

First, I don’t really buy into the idea of differences between a man and woman’s swings. Maybe on the professional level but the ball only knows the club that is hitting it and the speed at which it is being hit. The Titleist ball experts say to fit the ball to your game from the green back to the tee so max swing speed should not be your biggest concern. That’s why you will see both the ProV1 and ProV1x on both tours and with short and long hitters. They choose the ball that feels best to them and gives them the best results they want in ball performance. Maybe start a new thread on the Women’s Golf section where you can get more direct answers from the TT ladies playing these balls.

Have to agree with Dale. I’m in no way an exceptional golfer, but serious enough that good fitters can find club combinations that work for me. That are never on the rack and are never the same combination of clubs as a fixed set. The same with balls. I’m sure that a clerk at a big box store would recommend a super soft 2 piece ionomer ball for me, But pure and simple, I’ve found that the X and V both result in better scoring and the X has a slight edge over the V for me. Even with a driver head speed barely into the 80’s.

I watch the PGA for the excitement, but watch the LPGA for course management and shot making as their game more closely resembles mine. I like that Lisa has created a discussion topic for women. Hopefully that topic can build on attracting more women to the site. In the end, my recommendation on ball selection is the same for everyone. From TruFeel to Pro-V1x, there is a Titleist ball for anyone remotely serious about their game. Price and time commitment are both important factors in selecting a ball as well as clubs. Your own experience and trials will be your best guide for the right ball for you.
