All things being same, player, swing speed, shaft and flex. Both standard lie and loft 7 iron for sake of conversation. What would be the difference in distance and ball flight between 716 AP1's and AP2's ?
Fred ClossDenton, TX
Dwayne, I performed that comparison and chose the AP1 irons...The offered more forgiveness, but also a higher flight in the mid and long irons. I'm getting too old for blades.

I agree with Fred C in that the ball flight would be higher with the AP1s. I also believe this is why it is critical to get fit on a range rather than an indoor simulator. Ultimately no matter how well you hit an iron, if the ball flight isn't what you expect or achieve you probably aren't going to like the performance of the club. Ball flight is also a factor when you consider the conditions you play in most of the time.
I currently swing a brand new set of AP1's and I love them. My buddy hits forged I have swung them and they are same loft, lie and length but I hit them shorter was wondering if this is common or was it me.
