    Hi everyone,γ€€

I hope everyone had a fun-filled 2016 golf season.  It looks like the season is pretty much over for us in the Greater Toronto Area, with only a few select courses still open for business.γ€€

Do any of you have any golf trips planned for the winter?  I'd love to hear about them so I can get some ideas for next winter...

Although it's not really a "winter" trip my Dad and I are heading down to Augusta for The Masters in April, it will be a first for both of us.  Needless to say, we are both pretty pumped!

    Cheers,

Hi Andre and I think a big welcome to the TT Canada board! The Master's Trip in April sounds awesome. Did you get tickets for a specific day or for the entire event?

As for me, we tend to play year round or close to year round on the west coast. With the wet rainy season setting in though, I am starting to look at heading further south too - perhaps Arizona or California for a short golf getaway!

    Thanks Dino!

We have a pair of tickets for the Tuesday practice round. We are hoping to find a golf game or two around Georgia while we are down there.

I hope you get to Arizona or Cali for your short golf getaway!

  4. So far we've never been on a winter golf trip but we're starting to consider it. I'm going to watch this thread to see where other TT members have been or will be going. Might be time to start planning something....

And have a great time at the Masters Andre!

Hawaii, going to Maui to see the tournament of Champions, play a round and then hop over to the Big Island and play a few more. ( I will assume the lava fields are OB)

Todd - If you have not already picked a course near Maui, I highly suggest taking the opportunity to play Ko' Alau. It is an awesome track tucked up against the mountains on the lee side. As such it is carved through a partial rain forest with brilliant views of the ocean and the cliffs. A challenge from any set of tees with a lot of memorable holes !
As for my travels, My wife and I still cannot travel as we cannot get health insurance for her until April. However - as soon as we can, we will likely head down to visit family in Ft. Lauderdale :)

Hey Darius ... what a terrific photo ! It looks so very lush with all of the green everywhere -- and the cliffs in the distant look so imposing!

I hope that everything goes well for you and your wife and that you can both take a nice trip in the spring!

I know the feeling sitting out here on the East Coast with snow on the ground. Catching a cruise out of Miami for the Holidays so will play a couple of rounds down there before settling in for a long winter.

Next week, heading to Jamaica for the 6th time. Playing 2 courses, White Witch and Cinnamon Hill. Both really nice with great ocean views and ocean holes.
4 years ago, went to an island called Great Exuma, which is just south of Nassau, and played one of the prettiest courses I have ever been to. It is a Greg Norman course attached to the Sandals resort. They filled Big Break there a few years back. The last 8 holes are right on the Ocean. Have never seen water , that color before. Greenish, turquoise blue, truly spectacular!!
Wherever you may go, picking up a club and playing in the winter is a treat in itself. Happy Holidays to all.

Hey Darius thanks for the suggestion I haven't made any plans yet. I hope your wife is feeling better.

I'll be headed to West Palm Beach, FL in early January for meetings at PGA National. We'll mix in a round there and then I'm headed down the street to visit my dad and play a few rounds at his course called Mayacoo Lakes. Very cool, rustic Florida course with a ton of character and plenty of water. Not to mention a few gators in iguanas!
Also neat because most of the folks who are members there are born, bread and raised in Florida. Not a whole lot of snowbirds. So you really get to mix it up with the locals!

Looking forward to the warmth already. And hitting some NEW Titleist gear! ; )

Hey Mitch ... sounds great! The perks of being fortunate enough to work in a job that combines passions!

It would be nice to see some photos from the golf too! It would be nice to see everyone's experiences this winter/spring, etc.!
