Hey team, my new 716s arrived today and as cold as it was here in Ontario to start the morning it turned out to be a beautiful day for the maiden voyage. 716 AP2s, KBS tour S+. I couldn't be happier! Thanks to the keen eye of Chris when doing the fitting, he has my ball flight pegged and these irons match up great. Hit a stinger 6 iron 185 into the slight breeze to back right flag on #17 today to 5 feet. Exactly what I hoped it would do. They feel great and coming from hitting 710 MBs with PX 6.5s I have to say I am very pleased I made the switch. Now if the weather cooperates hopefully I can get a few more weeks of play on these beauties. Here's to a long fall Team. James :)

Glad you got your new kids in time to get a few rounds in during this season. Sounds like they are working well for you.

Wow - 185 yds with a 6 iron. You certainly hit it longer than I do. I am sure it is not simply the clubs. Are the 716 irons flying further than your older model 710's?

    Enjoy your fall.

Sweet right? I can totally feel your excitement in your post. I totally get how you feel, and I love being a Titleist "fanboy". I've had Cleveland's and I've had png's in the past, and that's where those brands will stay. There's a pride of ownership you get with Titleist that I didn't experience with any other.

James, congrats on the new sticks, I'm looking to order mine any day now. Curious what you thought of the KBS shaft weight after hitting 6.5s. I imagine the KBS feel lighter. I have KBS x in my 714 but considering the s+. Thanks

Hey guys, Darius, I think they fly better and more consistent due to the different shaft and new grooves. So they are doing what they should do and that means not necessarily farther per say, but rather better more consistent on the distance they should?? The right combo of head and shaft. I was always thinking of "How" to get my ball to fly before, whereas with these irons I trust and hit if that makes any sense, which is why I made the switch. THINKING IS BAD ON THE COURSE for me lol! I went to get fit because I found my 710s were not flying the distance I thought consistently. I am a high ball hitter with little spin. My irons were falling out of sky not due to too much spin but rather not enough to keep them on the trajectory. Especially into the wind!! So the KBS tour S+ launches better for me with this set up and spin just right. My smash factors are all bang on so the proper launch was always there but combo of launch, correct spin for my ball speed and it all works perfect. No swing manipulation or thinking needed, it matches my swing perfect. Kev, they really don't feel much lighter, which I like as far as weight. Funny you should ask because during my fitting, Chris found that the lighter shafts we tried I didn't transition well or load it and lost smash factor. The S+ feels awesome, responsive and smooth and I am very pleased. You will like it, and remember Justin rose plays a KBS S+ so works nice for him! I think S+ vs X will be easier to hit more consistently. I did hit some Xs in the KBS and wasn't as easy for me, had to work at it. if that helps. JM... Yes! Sweet and lots of Pride in ownership I feel you bro! Cheers Team!!!! James G

James...  What you just wrote further emphasizes the importance of us all getting fit properly for our clubs rather than simply picking the club and shafts that we "think" is right.

So glad yours are doing what you want them to do although I am not surprised given my experience with my fittings. Sounds like you have exactly what you have been looking for in launch, spin, carry, feel, and most importantly confidence.

    Darius
