I'm just wondering if Titleist will ever produce a players iron with forged stainless steel in the future.  I had both the 704's and 755's which were made from forged stainless steel and really liked them.  I currently have a set of 710 AP2's and after about 100 rounds the faces are showing some wear and you can see them start to rust in spots.  I have always stayed away from nickel-plated forged clubs for this reason.  The AP1's are a little big for my liking (as were the 704's).  Lots of guys on tour use irons that aren't forged- Stricker used 755's for a long time and most of the png guys use non-forged clubs.

Does anyone out there have the same feeling?

    Hi Jamie,
    Thank you for your question.
The finish on past, present and future irons is based on both consumer and tour player feedback.
The finish on current 714 irons provides a nice clean look and is the direct result of such feedback. It is tough to predict the finish on our future products but it is definitely something we carefully address when designing all new club products whether it be iron, metal, wedge or putter!

Thanks again for your excellent feedback!
    Keep it coming!

    Cheers,
