  1. Just got fitted at my local shop...10 handicap...tested the 9.5 degree D2...15/19 degree fairway woods and AP2 irons...stuck deciding on shaft options. I like the Blue 62/72 shaft for driver/fairway woods but seem to be right on the cusp of stiff vs reg flex....Swing speed is 95 with the driver...88-90 with 5 wood...and 77-80 with the 7 iron. Ball speed around 100 mph with the driver. Suggestions? What about irons? S300 or xp95? Currently play with stiff graphite shafts (stock) in 10 year old driver/fairway woods and s300 steel shafts...Advise? Thanks!

    Hello fellow fan...

I am surprised the fitter did not tell you which shaft worked best, and the correct stiffness.

I am currently playing to a 7 and my driver swing speed is only 93. I had my fitting, and after testing multiple shafts, they fit me with stiff in both my irons and my driver. The different shaft options were selected to get the correct ball flight trajectory.

    Good luck in your selection...

  3. Thanks Darius...had 2 different guys helping. I tested best with a "stiff" blue 62 driver...but "regular" with the blue 72 fairway woods. Kind of a strange/confusing experience.

My irons are the 712 AP1 irons, so that could account for some of the difference, but I would also think it has something to do with our swings. I know that we should be trying to have a similar swing regardless of if we are hitting a driver or an iron, but I know my iron swing is different than when I am wielding a the big stick ! I tend to hit into the bottom of the ball with my irons whereas I hit up into the ball with my driver.

It could be a combination of the swing and the fact that you are looking at the 714 AP2 irons that changed the shaft options.

Hey - if we were all the same, they would only need one shaft and one iron design. Let us embrace our differences and enjoy the fact that we have so many options at hand to make our games better !
